TRD exhaust was discontinued so I think next best option for second gen is borla. Anybody got a hookup? Or know where the best deal is? Found one site but I've never heard of them. Eliteracefab

I don't know what thread he posted in. I try to stay away from the off-topic threads on TW since it's too easy to catch a ban in those threads these days.

Sure don't see these around anymore, let alone the actual performance package.

What was the performance package? I had the 2.8 V6. It was under powered, even for this car.

    Sometimes I miss my Fiero.

Last year of production they did a big redesign to the suspension and offered a limited run - the "Formula" package. Didn't have any more guts but it was a riff on the Lotus formula cars.of the time.

Mine was an 88. Definitely handled well in the corners. Other than the t-tops, it didn't have any special packages.

There were a couple prototypes for the next generation, which had a DOHC 3.4 V6. Would have been a much faster car.

Standard GM, finally sort the car and cancel it.

Here’s today’s dose of edge. Truck went into the shop today and this is my rental.

I loathe it. I’m going to call first thing tomorrow to swap it. I went in thinking it would be cool. It’s totally not for me.

Honestly, it's cool having the V8 power of these new 1/2 ton trucks, but I have driven all of them at work, and they are all WAY too big! Our Tacoma's are just the right size!

I feel like I’m driving a dump truck. I basically fall/slide out of it and the edge of the seat trim is SHARP. When I picked it up it was getting 14.8 MPG. I know my Tacoma isn’t that much better, but it still feels much more manageable.

That’s pretty low MPG, I thought it’d do a little better. I haven’t ridden in a half ton Ram in a while, but the last one I was in rode really nice! I’d have some fun with that v8 for a bit before turning it in!

    I dream of a 250 or 350 on 35s or 37s.....as well as a power wagon

It feels like I’ve got a rental unit in an apartment. A family of four could live in the center console. It’s the width that throws me more than anything.

I want to throw 37’s on my 250 in the worst way! My stock size tires are 34’s, going to 35’s would hardly be noticeable. I can stuff 37’s under there with very minimal work but I’d have to level it or lift it, which I don’t want to do. Truck is already tall enough.

Also, this is a 2WD truck. For a 2WD it’s higher than my Tacoma.
This thing is a 2WD and the seat height is higher than my Tacoma!

Speaking of mileage, most of the 1/2 ton trucks I get into at work seem to average between 12-16 MPG! There are a few exceptions that are around 18 MPG, but I don't know how people afford to put gas into these trucks!
While they can look really cool (I do like the look of newer Power Wagons), working on such a large truck is a chore unless you have a 12k pound two post lift, or you are stuck working on the ground with a jack and jack stands. Picking up a set of 37s with 20 inch wheels can really kill your back as well!

My full size gets great mileage! My non-hybrid Fords did pretty well, too - I'd probably be at high 22s with my old 3.5, high 23s with my 2.7.

Wow, that is alot better than the V8 powered trucks I see!
