My people! I thought I’d get drawn and quartered for badmouthing Dunk’s ‘round here. Figured it’d be a worse offense than choose a Ferd over Toyota (4 times now but who’s counting)

Are you kidding it's actually The main way that people are thinking. The advertisement wants you to believe that everything in boston is all about dunkin donuts. Cumberland farms is a gas station and their coffee blows dunkin' donuts away

I drink coffee. Just black. I like a strong dark coffee, so, I'm not a fan of chain stuff, but I'll cave in an hit a Starbucks if I'm traveling...

Also debating on making a quick day trip up to Epping today....

Dunkin coffee always seems to taste better if you don't get it at Dunkin. Their iced coffee is definitely watered down, and it's all cream and sugar. I usually prefer Honey Dew over Dunkin. HD's food is way better than Dunkin.

A couple years ago a bought a Keurig machine. Now I feel Dunkin and HD coffee is weak compared to the coffee made at home.

So, while I sit here, contemplating my plans for the day(Tiff works Tues thru Saturday)...

I have resident deer. This year, I managed to catch a good look at a doe that looked... heavy. Sure as hell, last night eating dinner, we were watching a fawn.. playing, running in and out of the brush out back, etc.

I have flowering crab apple trees, so, always deer. Never noticed anything actually bedding down, and having a fawn.

I'd minimized yard work when I noticed the doe(Good excuse to spend more time riding, and doing things I WANT to do:D).

But, I, curious on thoughts on what to do, or not to do.. I'm not going to intentionally disturb it. I may go look for the thicket later in the year.
I've taken steps to discourage the coyote and bear from taking up residence.. deer don't bother me, and the wife and kids love seeing them in the back.

In the end, I can't let the yard go wild, the woods will take back over faster than one would imagine.
    But, what would yall do?

Just a thought exercise/concensus out of curiosity, nothing more.

Oh, and I have to relocate a dead raccoon shortly.. must've fallen out of the tree and landed near my back steps.

I’d give the fawn a lot of distance, mom will come back and they’ll be gone in a day or so. I had the same situation last year and it’s advised not to go near or do anything to disturb.

    Good luck.

No, I see Mom daily. Last night was the first clear sighting of the fawn.

I KNOW they're on the property somewhere, and I know the general area.

The question basically is, will doing normal yard maintenance actually disturb them, and have them move on? Or will they "ignore it".
We don't have any crops that they can destroy etc.

I am not interfering with anything. Hell, the dog only seems curious, though she has growled growled let me when the buck is/was visible.

All I'm doing right now regarding this, is spreading out how often I do the mowing in the out back.

I'm just curious how others would handle this?
I know some won't care, and business as usual. And then others would be polar opposite, etc.

I think they’ll be fine, keep disturbances to a minimum.

That's been the thinking, and my course of action so far.

Yard is kinda looking like a meadow, especially further from the house, but, I don't really mind.
