At4w chart shows 8.5 as max width for wheels, any issues by going to the max?

Nope, it has less of a ballooned out sidewall but it hasn’t caused any issues. Mainline did have trouble mounting them but they suck anyways

You're not getting a whole lot of bulge with a skinny regardless but 8.5 should be fine I think

I've suspected my dehumidifier in the basement hasn't been working very well. It seemed to have to run for a really long time to make any difference and it often iced up. I looked it up today to comparison shop and found it's known to light on fire and has been recalled. The heat pump water heater takes some humidity out, but with just that it seems to hover around 70% so I can't quite go without a separate dehumidifier.

I bought a new one today and even though it's a 50 pint rather than the 65 I had, it dropped the humidity in the basement by 10% in an hour. The other one had to run all night to do that.

If you have a heat pump w/h, you should have a condensate pump, correct?
My dehumidifier drains to tye same condensate pump that my 1st floor air handler. No draining.

That's how the old one was setup. Someone cross threaded the hose onto that one (whole unit was in the house when I bought it) so the end was super rusted and I didn't want to reuse it on the new one. I'll grab another washing machine hose to cut an end off and hook up to this one tomorrow.

I do. Thought about doing that, but I also have a sump pump (that I even recently replaced even though it's never actually needed - I use it for my annual drain of the water heater and that's about it) so I always just dumped into that hole before. It's in a better spot for the dehumidfier.

Happy birthday America! When my coworkers ask, how was your Fourth of July? I'm going to say it was phenomenal because I got to work the grill for two hours at the family get together. Everything was cooked perfectly from the chicken to the burgers.

    Understood.

However, if you can minimize the water in there, you'll reduce the humidity, thus reducing the the runtime, and enegery consumption.
The condensate pump also draws MUCH less power than the sump.

True, but the sump never runs. The hole is always dry and any water just sinks into the ground. I have to get 40+ gallons into it pretty quickly to get the water high enough to run it, and even then I lift the float a bit by hand to start it.

I am not sure why it is there, honestly. Can't imagine a situation where I would actually need it.

Is it a New England thing that the guy manning the transfer station is a dickhead, or is that just Vermont?

Not a New England thing, usually they're pretty chill and tend not to really give a shit. At least that's been my experience in MA.
