That doesn't seem constrained to the Cyber truck.

95 south RI agressive driver. Checks out full stop there.

By practicality I just meant the stainless finish. Otherwise its a dog. Stupid money. Seen a couple rivian trucks too. A couple back home and some out here too. Even saw one with a roof top tent!

I'd buy a Rivian R3x in a heartbeat as a daily. I wish it didn't have the corporate nose, but everything else about it is awesome. I wish they took a bit more from the Delta Integrale rather than the Dodge Omni, but I can live with that.

The only thing I dig about the Cybertruck is the stainless finish since it reminds me of the DeLorean, which despite all it's flaws (and there's many) is still my favorite car of all time. I feel the same about a painted Cybertruck as a painted DeLorean, it just isn't right.

So here's the scoop, removed the old, beyond trashed, cheap carpet and foam underlayment. Found a ton of filth ground into the solid board subfloor. Realized getting the smell out for real was gonna require sanding anyway.

    20240626_112700.jpg

Not exactly sure what we want to do with the floors yet, leaning to making some real nice wood ones in the shop from some of the real neat stock in the lumber hoard.

So I detailed every square inch down to approximately 220 grit, removed all tacks, nails, edges, lifts, splinters, eased the transitions between boards and various plugged register holes, hammered down all the nails with a punch, stained (low spots and screw holes got an antiquing treatment with a black stain, the main color is a MinWax Dark Walnut), and double coated with satin poly.

    20240707_151617.jpg

This will be good enough until year 2 or 3 when putting in fancy floors rises to the top of the priority list, all the hard prep is already done for that job, and it will just be a matter of popping off the old trim, dropping the floors directly in, and re-trimming.

    20240707_151624.jpg

My partner is going to take care of smoothing and repainting the trim - it needed it anyway and not having to mask for stain and poly was a huge saver.

I hope some day someone finds this subfloor and gets a kick out of it. "Boy, the old timers sure did things better!"

It isn't gonna make the cover of Martha Stewart magazine, but perfect is the enemy of good enough.

If I can find it, I have a picture of four DeLoreans lined up at an Austin car show. I think one of them had a replacement engine, maybe from a Renault. Another thing I like down here is that there is at least one car show just about every week. Last weekend I went to one Saturday and one Sunday. There was a bit of overlap, but mostly different cars.

At yesterday's I saw one of these,

    https://www.rezvanimotors.com/rezvani-vengeance#vengeance-home-page

At the Sunday show the Toyota truck owners group together in one corner. I've yet to bring my truck in but there are no requirements or rules about who can show what. I might just park it there with a sign that says "4WD Camry with really big trunk." ;)

Built a temporary ramp so my wife can get in/out for the house. 10 weeks of non weight barring from her foot surgery. Should have picked a different day though. It was brutal by noon.

Nice work, best wishes for her speedy recovery as well!

Guessing she is or will be using the knee scooter as well.

Nice work! I'd suggest grip tape at a minimum and maybe consider a hand rail down one side if she needs support.

    Yup, cheap insurance.

Mine was my knee but I tried using crutches and no go, I did a lot better with just one on the other side..

This house is dirty. Like dirty dirty.

Here's the before and after of the kitchen floor. I tried laboratory bleach, I tried peroxide, I tried scrubbing and scrubbing and scrubbing and scrubbing.

Took a steam machine and a brass bristle brush.

    20240709_135839.jpg 20240709_135851.jpg

The steam unit is honestly pretty great. I'm going to get the whole house with this thing, room.by room.

That's funny man, I am about to do the same exact thing to my back steps for my aging doggo.

The 2007 red double cab pre-runner on the end is Kurt from another (60+) thread. Good guy...from Lockhart. If you see his truck...ask around for him

Lmao that sucks bro :/ I can’t tell if its unreasonable for me to expect the fridge to stay cool. It was in the bed of my truck over the weekend and the cape and on day 3 it was like 66-70 degrees most of the day. Luckily i just had drinks in there.

What is your bed setup? Cap, Tonneau? Open?
I know the fridge I'm looking at, has a MAX ambient of 131f. Though, I'm not sure at what temp setting, I'd have to go back and look.
Your DeltaT is a big deal, temperature differential, between the inside of the fridge, and where you're trying to reject to. Also, things like airflow, and direct solar load as well.
If wire size isn't enough, amp draw will increase, and could cause the compressor to trip on protection.
