I went to Franklin Institute of Technology came out with an Associates and worked in a dealership for about 14 years. I loved the job but there was no benefits or future. The old timer next to me went home one wkend and never came back. He just died, he worked his life away cause he had to. I was married and had one kid and that was an eye opener for me. I was lucky enough to get a job with med/dental/eye a retirement and annuity

I don't even want to get started on that tangent, I just let it be:laugh:

But, ya, I agree with you.

I bought a truck to haul stuff, go camping, drive over shit, etc.., not to go fast.

The other thing is, for a truck/suv that's going to be used off road, you want reliablility. You start adding "go-fast" parts, tuning, etc, you're certainly not helping reliability at all.

I do want to put a set of short tubes on mine and a better crossover pipe though. If I can find an intake plenum spacer cheap enough, I'd try it for shits and grins also. Otherwise, I'm with John, the truck tows and hauls what I need so no need to tune a heavy truck that can't handle worth a shit anyways.

Franklin was my first pick, then NEI..then I scrapped it. Having screwed up my knee as a teenager made me second guess if being on my feet all the time was a smart move.

My buddy runs his 2007 4Runner on road courses. Keeps up with a bunch of cars. I think his 1/4 time is in the mid 12s.

I know modding is stupid but this is the equivalent of me buying a mustang and fucking with it. I just want to have fun

What road coarses are those. Ive never been to one that allowed suv's/ trucks. And I've driven most of the Northeast coarses. Any group I have run with always specifically says no trucks/suv's. Only place I have seen them allowed is scca rally-x, and only with permission from the board
