Hmmmm, what should the next big money mod be. Used icon extended travel 2.5s, if so, keep the light racing UCAs or try to get a deal on those used camburg uniballs. Or should i stick with the OME suspension and start buying some more armor, i would probably start with skids. Or go a different route, and since i dont go wheeling only about once a month, do a nice set of HID retrofits. Decisions, decisions. I kinda want the icons for on road ride quality as well as offroad. :frusty:

    I hate "car/truck" shopping ..

Both Tacomas were :(,the poor salesman showing me an FJ got soaked...Re-con guys forgot to close a window...FJ's can hold 2" of water on their floorboards .....and the drivers seat ...well ..

Only good thing was the IS250 AWD .......I am quickly learning that finding a newer 4x4 might be a royal P.I.A.....and sitting in a LEXUS surrounded by "toys" might just "fit"....;)..

Forgot it is 1st weekend of "Bike Week" so traveling up north to see 2 other FJ's ...Uh Uh Uh...:p

Hmmmmm. Like $300 cheap? They only have 6,000 miles. I cant believe i am considering re-doing my whole front suspension after less than 6,000 miles.

A deadener will take the "ping" out of the roof. A rubber/ensolite will block a lot of the road noise

Thanks for the offer. Lift was an easy install. Did it in 3hrs and that included a trip to Pepboys to pick up a strut compressor. Jacked the billies up to 2.5 up front. Looks great, now Chris just needs bigger tires! ;)

Hope everything works out, good luck on Monday.

I think we could make something like that work. Shoot me a PM if you decide to pull the trigger on another lift.

Holy multi-quote. Just caught up on todays posts

$75 more actually. 6,000 miles is pretty new. I take really good care of them also. Just a feeler price, but it would be hard to let them go for less than that knowing that i dont really need to sell them and buy uniballs. I think they would work fine with the icons for what i use the truck for.

I think you should buy my retrofit kit :D

With your OME kit being brand new, I don't know if I'd go with Icons. They don't tend to be as friendly with the salt roads up here. Regardless, I'd keep the LR UCA's, unless you go with stainless steels balls (no one likes rusty balls). I'd keep the OME kit and get some armor unless the downtravel limitations are really getting to you that bad.

The lack of downtravel isn't horrible, but its annoying. If end up going with coilovers i would probably preload for a little less lift than i have now, maybe do a little more trimming. I think another 1"+ of downtravel would make a a big difference. I hate cringing everytime i hit a pothole on 95. I would take a pretty big hit ditching the OME suspension. And i don't know if i would even sell it considering that icons can be rebuilt, which would mean i need a spare set of shocks/springs eventually.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
I think it's silly to get rid of a solid, reliable, and simple lift for a more complicated C/O setup. There are few, if any advantages.

Hopefully we install my lift today. It's a damn nice day for cold beer and a good wrench

Got my OME strut's apart. Time to clean, sand and paint them up before reinstalling them with the trim packer.

If you go with the Icon's the LR's sould still be fine. If it were me though I would spend the money on skids. If your going wheeling once a month it is likely that you will be hitting stuff underneath and causing damage. Just ask Denis what can happen.
