Lucky for me the soil was fairly dry and well compacted. Look at what I do for a living, I've done way dumber things.

Where on cape and for how long. I am a 1/2 hour from the canal. The town I live in has a high water table also and we got water in the bathroom area a couple of times till I extended the system. I have a sump in the lowest point as well as perferated pipe around and it still came in when we had a heavy rain for a long time with a winter melt.

The news said something about 9+ inches of water and we are totally dry. We used Seaside Basements for the work

Drainage is everything. I don't know why people don't insist on an under-slab system which ties into a perimeter drain and out to daylight or a giant drywell.

Good example: My brother was buying a house from a developer when the house is being built. I was overseas, so I send him an e-mail and tell him to insist on drainage before the footings get poured. He ignores my advice. He goes back to see the progress after the entire foundation has been poured and it's a swimming pool. I tell him to walk away from the deal. He ignores my advice. I get back from Iraq to see this new house, and shit a brick. The whole area (8 house lots) that has been developed is flat as a board, zero drainage for surface water. His basement is wet. His sump pump runs damned near 24/7/365. He had to install a generator to keep his basement dry when the power went out. SMH...

So true. When we were looking for our house we knew the table was high and everyhouse that listed a pump we eliminated from our "take a look" list. Hind sight being 20/20 we should have done a house with it already done. I have mine pumping to the driveway which is on the downhill side of the house.

The only thing I worry about now when it rains is my septic tank filling from ground water. We have a oneway valve installed to help eliminate back flow into house

Did you get them from Icon? What is the rating? I am pretty sure I'm gonna need since I'm planning on a plate bumper and winch plus running full skids and the Apex sliders seem to weigh a shit-ton too--not fun lugging them in and out of the garage when I was coating them

:spy: I cheated on my truck today. I know pretty much everyone here thinks Heep is a 4 letter word but I just had to see more about this at the AEV site:

That's Rob, I think Denis' signature pretty much sums up his opinion on Jeep. Personally, I'd definitely consider one of those if it hit the market at a reasonable price. I'm already considering a Jeep Unlimited when it's time to turn the Tacoma in. :crapstorm: That Brute looks awesome. I wonder why they don't hit production. I think you have to buy an Unlimited and then buy a kit to have one, that's why the price is so high.
