Well the drama continues. My agent just called and told me that they will call the insurance company and remove my claim and reclaim it as property damage. It turns out his ins company is the same as mine Fat chance I would ever get my deductable back I also found out that the 40.00 labor rate is the going rate how does a body shop make any money

That may be the going rate they pay at, but that's crazy. Granted dealers are usually more $$ anyhow but the rate at my brother in law's place is $100-$110 an hour. Damn Chevy!

 

What do they mean 'the going rate'? I promise you, if I take my truck to a dealership today, I wouldn't be anywhere near $40/hr but more like double that. And for something like this, I'd have the dealership be the one to give you the quote since it's a brand new truck.

Similar to medical insurance yes, but someone they do business with agrees to take that payment and not look for more. That's the reason they do it.
