Damn, that sucks. I have had people PM me though and not respond to a sale thread. I got an angry PM once for the same reason, guy thought I cut someone in front of him because he responded to the thread first but someone else PM'd be before him.

It was a good deal. I was going to run the set through the winter.

Meh... I made one out of 2x4's and, with proper straps, they're not needed.

I PMed him almost immediately after that was posted, my friends dad was ready to drive out there, he even joined the forum the next day. The guy told me he sold them on craigslist.

Personally, that vette is ugly. The round tail lights are a signature vette thing. Now they're gone and it looks like a camaro with a body kit and a stupid chrome sting ray emblem on the side

Thanks all..just glad it's over with for him, zero quality of life in the past almost 4 months.

At the rehab they said past experience is between 2-8 weeks off dialysis. He went off around June 20th so still beat that by a good month. Stubborn like a mule :)

Alex--I think most of the "ribbing" posts are subliminal messages of concern about all the signs that have come with that bike. You are too young to end up in the situation I had a couple months after my 40th birthday a few years back. Bought an older bike off ebay. Had a dealer go thru it cuz there were some power loss issues. Git hit by a lady the day I got it out of the shop and ended up out of comission for ~6 months and now I get to wear this hunk of metal and carbon fiber instead of the meaty match to my left lower leg. The LAST thing you need when you're driving a bike in traffic is to have poart of your mind worried about a potential malfunction cuz that 1/2 second distraction can get ya severely hurt or worse. I wouldn't drive that bike you have unless you completely disassemble the bitch and go thru every nut and bolt, mechanical, electrical, etc. system on it to make sure its tip tops. /End sermon

That seems to be the route I'm gonna take. It's going away for the winter and I will start rebuilding on a new frame in the spring. Get new wiring, forks, swing arm.

MIGHT get a parts bike, but that might be out of my price range at this point.

Hate it but only because it looks to much like that sporty Caddy. I get the look they were going for, and I actually do think it looks decent, I just hate that they did that to the Corvette.

Seriously, find a forum where you can research the bike. The older CBR frames might work and you can find them very cheap and possibly end up with spare parts you can use. Keep your eye out on Ebay, sometimes used parts pop up fairly cheap. I used that a lot when I restored my old CBR.

Oh I forgot to mention I had to swerve really fast cause some bitch almost hit my trailer yesterday. Maybe that's why the strap failed a few miles later.

Shouldn't have mattered, you should be using straps strong enough to keep the load secured in that situation. Lesson learned, inspect the straps before you set off, if they're frayed or have a small slit in them, throw them away.
