Is a real Starbucks. I didn't get anything but was told the kids get a better deal than what other Starbucks charge

I'd be 3,000 lbs and jittery as a chipmunk if my campus had Starbucks. Their cookies and mocha frappuchinos. OMG

Really?? That's what's important in college now days, an air conditioned freshmen dorm? None of the dorms were air conditioned when I was looking at colleges. Besides, you're not in college for the hottest months anyways.

Nope it is not. But when ppl are spending a lot of money for a university education sometimes these things can add comfort to a young adult away from home many times for the first time in their life.

Free laundry in the dorms is a nice addition I wish I had when I was in school!

I agree to a point... I'm spending a lot of money because I want the University to hire and keep the best professors in their field, not squandering the money away on A/C for the fragile young minds that attend the school.

100% agree. The AC can go out the window if the education is not there...

If you are building a new building, why would you not put central air in it from the start? This was the case. The building in question was built within the past 10 years. It has AC. The rest mostly do not.

My comment above was more about the Starbucks. Cafeteria's in schools are not normally known for their coffee. But students do tend to spend many late nights procrastinating/studying/writing. What better than a coffee shop?

Honestly, for a school, I wouldn't put central air in regardless. The dorms are shut down for the summer months and, aside from a few days out of the year, New England doesn't really get that hot. Putting central air into a building is just that much more added cost and maintenance. I'd just put in radiant heat and let the kids deal. Make the dorms too comfortable, they'll never leave and go to class or get out and go to the library, they'll just sit around playing video games in all their free time.

I see your point of view. We are going to need to agree to disagree on this one. There are many reasons I care not to go into detail on.

21 years in Florida, 1 year in the Bahamas, 11 years in RI.

Mattresses suck in college. Wonder if that's why I was always looking for a couple of comfy pillows :D

Yeah no AC plus sunlight sucks. Especially after partaking in some recreational activities.... Wayyyyy too stuffy in those dorms. Even in December.

The HTC One isn't slow. The HTC Design has a single-core 1.2ghz CPU, the HTC One has a quad-core 1.7ghz CPU (and yes, battery life is still good)
