I did that on the Ninja a couple of times. 20 miles into the commute I'd come to a stop sign and was like "man, this thing is really running rich today..." before the light bulb came on and I turned the choke off. Same stop sign, every time.

I had bad luck with K100. It kept the bike running well with the ethanol but didn't seem to help with winter storage, for me anyways. I switched to Startron and had better luck but the bike is still tempermental. The other small engines love the stuff, the bike just needs a tune up I think.

My Katana is the same way, won't start under 30 degrees and you have to really want it to get it to run between 30 and 40. She's a cold blooded bitch :)

x2, my cousins had a Pilot and loved it. They towed with it pretty regularly and never had any problems. The interior is set up nicely also. Very kid-friendly, you can get up and move from the front seat to the rear, similar to a minivan.

A viable alternate for sure. I found out about Lucas Safeguard Ethanol Fuel Conditioner this year and am using it over Sta-Bil in all my small engines because the big issue now is the alcohol being mixed with the gas which plays havoc with the small carbs. This product also contains stabilizers for the gas and I recommend it to everyone

My winter storage routine for the bikes is to brim the tanks, add some k100 or blue Stabil, go for a ride, then brim the tank again. In the spring I siphon the stabilized fuel back out and fill the tanks up with fresh before I start riding. The stabilizer keeps the gas from going bad, but neither one of the bikes likes burning the alcohol.

Easier way is to put the Stabil in an empty gas can, then add fuel to the can..that's how I do my small engine gear.

That's why I was wondering which one it was. I didn't remember a $100 bearing, I just bought the $40 Dorman. Oh well, if my noise is the bearing again, I'm getting an OEM for the nice, low price of $150

Going for a spin is simply for the purpose of pulling the stabilized fuel through the whole fuel system so I don't get varnish or water in the lines. I typically dump the stabilizer in before I fill the tank up (fill the tank to keep the inside from rusting)

Ya that's to much for me right now .

On a side note mike . I've been moving my mom into a apartment because she sold her house . We came across a book that was called baby's first seven years . Had all my info from birth to 7 . Pretty cool to look back at all that stuff . Just a idea for you and the wife .

Funny you should mention that, we just started a baby book this past weekend. We're adding the 'milestones' we've hit to date but I like the idea of keeping it through more than just infancy. Thanks for the idea!

My mom did that for my brother and I. She kept adding entries to them pretty regularly until we graduated high school, then she stopped. Lots of stories in there.
Evidently as a kid I had a disregard for danger and injury that was borderline suicidal.

True, but my method makes sure you have good distribution of the stabilizer in the fuel. That said, I don't have a bike..just my tractor, snowblower, etc.

That's not bad. OEM carrier is $150 and 3 OEM universals at $50/ea and you're almost there anyways. Only thing I don't like about that is it makes the bushing at the transfer case carry a load it wasn't intended to carry.
