Does anybody take care of their first car? I loved mine to death, thought it was awesome, washed and waxed it regularly, gave it premium oil, and beat the living crap out of it. I once broke the transmission mount on that thing jumping it (going down a steep hill with a road that cut across halfway down). I probably made it 40 feet, but that sucker vibrated like crazy until I got a new mount installed.
I also shoved a 3-inch stump through the floorboard skipping it across a muddy section on the way to a pit party. Stopped me dead in the water, it did.

92 Chevy cavalier coupe. Manual everything, AC. Loved that car. Drove it to 250k and the head gasket went. Otherwise i did nothing to it besides maintenance. My dad bought it new for commuting so he want putting miles on his Camaro. Fixed the head gasket and sold it for a few thousand, and bought my friends 02 Pontiac sunfire coupe.

I took great care of all my vehicles. Always have, even my old dirt bikes and ATVs. Sure, they got beat on in the woods, but all maintenance was always on time. I even took care of that Olds POS, it just got to the point where I couldn't afford parts any longer so it had to go.

my first car was a hand me down 2000 vw beetle. purple. spoiler. gay. lucky if it started, and even more happy if the headlights would turn on at night... cheeeeeeep pos... but man did i thrash it... to its credit it handled awesome on road and i only "lost it" around a corner once... gravel road, street tires... got a little too sideways haha. seemed like i was putting a new oil pan on it every few months... it was used and whoever had it put a lowering kit on it. lots of dirt and gravel roads where i live, not well maintained.

No i'm not a rich kid. I bought it for $150 when i was 15. You could do the Fred Flinstone through the floor. I used an old hood and cut it up and pop rivited in. The gas tank (which sets in the trunk) was almost falling out. That had to be welded new metal from Mustangs Unlimited. Yeah- put a lot of work into that. Finally got it painted and started to drive it when i was 17. Then i smacked it into a big Chevy pick-up after driving through a flashing red light. I'm color defficient so i thought it was a flashing yellow--ooops. Then owned a 82 Celica, another 82 Celica, 90 Olds Calais-Mine had electrical issues also- got stuck at the bottom of the Newport Bridge, then i was poor and had a 80 Corolla, then a 93 Toyota 4x4 Hilux, then my current 2005 Tacoma. AND JUST GOT MY TOYTEC ULT LIFT TODAY!!! Might put it on this weekend, prob gotta cut my front mounts for my 285/75/17. Just did it on my buddies FJ. Soooo excited!!! thats my story- sorry about writing a book LOL

Sold it to my uncle in Phoenix after I realized having a RWD in the snow kinda sucked balls. Other than that I loved it.

Bought my 4Runner and am still abusing the shit out of the poor thing :(

MY first car was a 1991 ford ranger. POS never really drove it... I bought for $500 started fixing it to drive. then and I realized it was just going to be a money pit. Sold the Blingy leather bed cover and tuckbox along with other trims pieces then scrapped it. Loss of $50 and a lot of time haha. So I ate my savings and bought a 98 regular cab Tacoma with cosmetic bumper damage and scrapes for $4000 at the time. Loved that truck. Sadly (but not to sad). The frame rotted out and Toyota offered to buy it back for 10k! I was also given 2 weeks to wheel it knowing that it would be crushed.

So I did what any 19year old with a blank vehicle check would do. Borrowed some 33 mud terrains, get the sawzall and go to a weekend of wheeling where you truck has no business being... When I got Stuck a friend was more than happy to push me with his new bumper on his JK..

When the weekend was over I had a smashed front fender, crushed tailgate. Ruffle rocker panels and a toasted driveshaft. (thanks Toyota!) The guy who signed for the truck was pretty not happy when he saw it had been wheeled. Not to mention The wrong sized tires and rims drilled and put on with an impact gun. I had XJ leaf springs and homade shackles because I was not about to crush it with OME leaf springs in it.

i had black steelies on it haha... i hated the car... but it made up for its lack of power, lack of sex appeal, man card robbing aesthetics and overall awfulness by actually being fun to drive. after you forgot all of the aforementioned short comings that is... which i hardly ever did... it was difficult to forget i was driving a bettle...

but it was a car, and i was grateful to have it. can't say i miss it though...
