Does anyone have access to a gas powered compactor for masonary work that I could borrow to finish the work on my front walk. All the blocks are in I just have to run it over the walk when I put the poly sand in.

I rented one from Taylor Rental when I did my back patio last year. They let me rent it for a hour or two. Either way, it wasnt too expensive.

Hopefully someone has one you can borrow.

Dont forget to put down some plywood or scrap to run the compactor over, you dont want to chip up a nice new walkway with the compactor.

You can just sweep the sand in. It locks it right together. The sand settles in time. You just need to add some more periodically.

I did that the first time but the walk is on an angle so it washes out over time so this time I got the Poly Sand that you put in then vibrate/compact in and wet after you clean all the loose sand off and it locks in like glue

If you get a metal-bottom vibrating plate compactor, I'd find a way to put an old piece of carpet or something softer on the bottom (assuming your walk is stone or brick).

I did the poly sand on mine as well. I swept the sand in after I hit it with the compactor, but either way, the compactor definitely helps set the pavers in place.

I worked for a stone contractor in college and we hit most walkways with the compactor. It gives it a nice flat finished look.

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of anybody who would be willing to trade their black sand pearl color matched sport grill for my chrome one? Or are any of you guys? Mines a 2008 Tacoma. Just thought I'd put it out there.

I see. I've heard of it but never used that stuff before. I always wanted to be able to take it back apart easily to work on it but I can understand what your saying because its at an angle.

Hey guys, I need tire help. Gonna buy some new tires for my truck in a couple days and don't know what to choose. Would you go 275/70/16 BFg all terrains or do same size as my tires now 265/75/16 Goodyear wrangler duratracts. I want something little bigger So I was thinking 275s but the 265 duratracs look mean as hell so idk what's gonna look good on my lift. I drive alot so thinking 275 bfgs are better buy the look of the duratracs are making me went them lol. What's your ideas guys. Thanks

You mean your Tacoma has a whiney, snot nosed, metrosexual brother in the driveway

The Duratracs are a better tire in my opinion. The BFG A/Ts haven't changed in a loooong time and I truely believe there are much better tire options available. They ran the market when they first came out but they've stayed the same while their competition passed by. Only looking at those 2 tires you mentioned, I'd get the Duratracs.

No comment on the tire sizes, it's largely personal preference. Next time I get tires, I'm going tall and skinny :)
