When I go to install what position should I have them in? I don't have the instruction in front of me right now because they're at the garage.

Damm that sucks. I get what you mean. The older the more parts you need to replace. I guess i'll need to keep looking for someone thats in at least decent shape. I know i'll have to replace parts and I'm ok with that. I wanna learn how to fix my stuff anyways but I really need to end my loan. Gonna be needing at least 10k to 20k for surgery so I got to do what I got to do you know. Hopefully I pick one that isn't beat the death. The chance I have to take. Health is first

OK, my list. * indicates something I never registered.
    1990

*83 Honda Civic..paid $250 and it turned out to have a bum valve, got my money back in parts.

    1991
79 Ford Mustang..notchback, red and black, black stripes on hood. 4 banger. Had this about 4 months and sold it for...

81 Datsun 280ZX. This one hurt..shortly after selling the 'Stang I found the frame and floors had rotted. Sucked b/c it only had 70k on it.

82 Pontiac Grand Prix. Not a bad beast even though it was only a V6. No job forced a fast sale but I made about $800 on it.

*80 Toyota Celica. Bought for $300 and had a bum oil pump..beyond my abilities so I got my cash back from a friend of a friend who totalled his and pulled his engine.

    1992:

80 Chrysler Cordoba. Total shitheap, $100 car that got me by a couple of months.

*84 Chevy Camaro, black. Paid $500 and flipped it for $1800 a month later.
84 Chevy Camaro, green. Paid $700 same day I bought the other. Selling the black one gave me my insurance for the year on this car and enabled me to get a job. Loved this car..cracked it up and fixed it, then it kept puking the trans. First run of the 700R4's that I later found out were crap.

84 Chevy Monte Carlo. Drove this between the Camaro after the accident and such. Not a bad little beast.

    1993:
*73 Buick Apollo. The one that got away. 350 Rocket, no major rust through the panels, had the window sticker/contract/manual. $150 and 2 brake lines. Never got to drive it, my dad made me sell one of my 3 cars and this one was the one I got a good offer on. Grrrr

83 Chevy Monte Carlo. Had sold the Buick and the 84 Monte, then the Camaro trans puked. This was a winter beater for $400. Had no 2nd gear and burned a ton of oil. Ended up losing 3rd driving home on the highway in a blizzard after a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show..25 all the way home haha. Sold the SS rims off it and trash canned the remains.

    1994:

77 Chevy Malibu. I had the Camaro trans rebuilt after the 83 died and it didn't last long. My grandfather got another ride and gave me this, needing a heater core which I already had to change for him. 80K, ran fine but that damn 6 banger sucked on fuel..could almost watch the gauge drop and had zero balls.

    1995:

84 Olds Delta 88. The Malibu was showing its age and this was a $100 beater. Motor was quiet as a kitten, plus I found about $500 of tools in the trunk. Spent quite a bit of work on it but mostly short $$ jobs so I got my money back after driving it a year.

    1996:

86 Olds Calais Supreme. Puked the distributor after a few months and I just couldn't keep up with it anymore..another mosquito killer.

86 Chevy Celebrity. Bought this rustbucket for $100..one of the 4 windows worked, damn power shit. Can't complain about driving it for a year and only needing front brakes and a tire especially with over 150k.

    1997:

88 Ford Taurus. Folks got me this as a summer project. Had it 2 months before some cocksmooch stole it at a bar and totalled it.

    1998:

88 Chevy Corsica. $400 shitheap..college car and it showed.

88 Chevy Celebrity. Stole this for $200. Battery, 4 plugs, and new throttle/kickdown spring got it home after sitting 2 years. Threw an exhaust in and just drove. Ran it from 110k to 155k, mostly routine shit except the computer and even that was $100 new. Still ran pisser almost a year later after I sold it to a friend.

    2001:

97 Olds Achieva. Spent almost $5k for it at 40k. Drove it to 120k, it survived me cracking it up drunk.

    2007:

2006 Chevy Colorado. First new ride. Liked it till the fukkn thing kept puking cam actuators every year..and of course the head dying.

    2012:

    2010 Tacoma, current ride.

    My list, not as exciting.

1990 Chevy Lumina (car)[grey], bought it from the family cheap. 9 months later the fuel pump died. Dad though I cracked the block from overheating from a previous accident. Junked it, saw it on the road a week later.

1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE 4dr [silver]. No major issues. Eventually needed tires. At this time I wanted a red 2dr

2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT 2dr [red]. Bought new tires, came with car attached. Did a lot of work customizing this one.

1986 Chevy Camaro V6 auto [rust w/ some white]. Friend bought it for $800, parents said no. I had it next day for $500. Major POS. Beat it up for a year, sold it for parts later and junked the rest.

1999 Cadillac Eldorado [pearl]. Traded the 99 Grand Am for it. 6 months later had some major issues, kept it limping along for a while. Attempted to trade several time for S-10 ZR2 without success.

1988 Pontiac Fiero GT [yellow]. Because why the hell not? 1 of 1200 with t-tops. Fun to drive although it wasn't fast. Due to lack of space, eventually sold it to a guy in TN, where he restored it to showroom condition.

2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS-6 M6 [red]. Realized the work I wanted to do to the 00' Grand Am wouldn't be worth it, traded it for this. Very fast cop magnet. One day slid on sand and crashed it, still drivable, but insurance totaled it.

2008 Tacoma Sport M6. First brand new vehicle. Traded POS caddy since no one else would take it. Owned it twice as long as any other vehicle so far. Almost traded for a 4Runner, glad the deal fell through.

Other than the following, every car I've had came from some kind of auction:

    77 Chevy Malibu
    86 Chevy Celebrity
    88 Chevy Corsica
    06 Chevy Colorado
    10 Tacoma

I would usually get a very good price on them. My thought was if I get 6 months to a year and sell it for what I had in or usually a profit, I got the use of the vehicle for that time at no real cost other than the constants (such as fuel and insurance). Usually the price would be so low that if it wasn't something I could get to being my daily driver I could at least recover my investment as a parts car sale.

There were some other bonuses, such as the tools in my Delta 88 (including complete Craftsman wrench set which I needed). My parents bought a car once and I found a $700 Blaupunkt tape deck that was a year old, cost me $50 to get the number code to it. Only the last 2 were bought from a dealer of any kind.
