Drum brakes adjust everytime you hit the brakes while the truck/car is going in reverse. Other than manual adjustment that is the only time they self adjust.

    This=Truth.

On the other hand, unless you use the parking brake on a regular basis, the pivots will have a tendency to seize. And then you'll turn the e-brake on sometime and it won't release.
And then you have to climb underneath your truck when it's 15 degrees and snowing, and pound on the pivots with a rock and smash your hand on the leaf spring and bleed and curse.
And then get back into the cab with your leg and side soaked through and freezing cold.

Not that I've ever had to do that or anything...

Holy sweet Jesus.... I'm at Ira Toyota of Danvers. As it is I'm not thrilled to be here.

I went to the service department to get some new clips for my fenders. I say I have an 05 4Runner and I need clips for the front fender flares. "I need your vin to look the parts up" I get the vin. He enters it and asks "so you need the trim piece?" "No, the clips that hold the front fender flare on" (note I said front specifically) "so are those for the front or the rear?" "....Front..."

So you would think with their HUGE parts inventory, they might have a few laying around in a bucket, right? Nope! I have to wait 15 minutes for some retard to bring them from the body shop. I would be home by now if I went to Woburn Foreign. Again I am reminded of the incompetence of Ira's staff. Last time I do ANYTHING there.

    WAIT, it gets better!!!

I paid $20.10 and the total was $20.08 (got $.02 back). I asked for a refund because it's been 15 minutes. He gives me $20 back and says "I don't need the $.02 back".... Do the math, he still owes me $.08. #LOLIraSucks

The regular brake adjusts, the cable operated e-brake doesn't. My drivers cable is sticking I think. There's a single to double cable pull T under the center console, my driver side one isn't moving, it just pulls the passenger side.

I bought my 2012 from IRA. Please don't call the parts/service department incompetent. To do so is an insult to incompetent people all across the world. Not only did the service department refuse to recognize the problem with my passenger seat, the parts department INSISTED that I did not need to change the crush washer on the drain plug with my oil change. They also insisted that my warranty would be voided if I did my own oil change, and REFUSE to deactivate the seatbelt chime.

As for the sales staff, I refused to play the game with them. I went in and made a fair offer. They declined the offer but called me back two days later saying that we were "close" and could I come back in. I did, and reduced my offer by $100. I told them either make the deal or don't call me again. They made the deal and put the hard sell on extended warranty and other extras.

Overall I'm happy with my Tacoma, but IRA does suck.

I like Toyota of Falmouth. They have a few people I don't care for. But with the frequency I go there I've had good experiences. One of my friends is a tech there he likes most of the other techs. One of the service writers (if that's the right position) does rub me the wrong way and tried to talk me into some extra stuff that was unnecessary. Other than that they have been straight forward.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
I'd stick with Toyota of Portsmouth. Buying the truck was easy, no BS. Parts department has been treating me well for over a decade. They do stand behind the truck, and service for the most part is good.

I never buy brand new cars so I never go to a dealer for service but copeland parts guys are good . They always seem to have what I need in stock .

I haven't had any issues either, really. I had one of the service writers tell me that there was no such thing as 5w-30 synthetic (when I asked for the upgrade to M1), and they had my truck a week diagnosing a suspension clunk (the service writer told me he drove the truck and it was "operating as designed"). I replicated the clunk for 3 separate techs prior to leaving the lot, but after many trips back, they did fix it for me, so no complaints.

I also had the parts guy give me a clip I needed after the one that I had ordered came back incorrect. After I had my remote start done, one of the clips for my dash wasn't reinstalled (I'm assuming it broke) so I just replaced it.

My Mom bought me the OEM bed mat and OEM exhaust tip for my birthday and Christmas, respectively. She said between Route 44 and Copeland that Route 44 was typically cheaper/more likely to match the internet in pricing. She said Copeland could get close, but she got the better deal at Route 44. That being said, I've never heard a good word about their sales department. I know you cannot basically walk the lot at all without being escorted by a salesman. In 2006 my girlfriend was looking for a new tC and she called them to see if they had any in stock so she could test drive. She requested automatic as she cannot drive manual. The assured her they had a few on the lot and when she got there all they had were 5MTs.

I bought my Tacoma through TrueCar and Copeland. I tried to get the dealers to play against each other, but I didn't get nearly as far as I would have liked. The guy at Boch was just getting annoying by the end. That being said, I hit a dead end trying to negotiate wheels/tires into the deal and ended up wanting to bang my head against a wall after the hard sell on the warranty.

I found out I would likely be working today at 4am. Funny people I work with decide they have drank to much to work BEFORE they go to bed. I was still up and hanging out at a friends house. Never have let being hungover stand in the way or work or fun.

It can suck but I would rather be miserable and making money than just miserable.

So, stay away from Balise and Ira?

So far I haven't had any bad experiences dealing with Boch Toyota South.

Colonial seems alright. I inquired about the supercharger there. They were happy to get me any info I wanted. But they told me they've never installed one before though...
