Hey guys sorry for the late responce, I was in Wells all day visiting Mom. I agree with them being user friendly and that they would work better with my lift due to adjustability but I want something with quality built in and those issues listed before plus when Rob tried to install his (which had just come out of Miguel's daily driver) and the bushings were shot as well as having somethingelse going on cause they were super loose. I am alittle concerned

The ones rob has are the old rubber bushing . They make a new urethane bushing too. I sold Chris a set with the new style bushing .
But I have read a lot of posts with complaints with those arms .

In my opinion if your alignment is good with the stock arms . I wouldn't waste your money on aftermarket arms. Rob has been running his stocks for along time with no issues .

If you go uniball . Just remember you need to clean and lube them often or the start to make noises and fail from the salt/ road debris .

Thanks John. Yeah my alignment I'd fine, caster is alittle low but not terrible

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma

HomerTaco is way more built up than me and he still has the stock arms. As a matter of fact he only runs 5100's with stock springs for his lift. The thing I am afraid of on the LR's is the reports on them breaking where the tube meets the forged section.

Yeah, the old ones had bushing issues. I can't imagine I'll have BJ or bushing issues, they seem to be quite robust, and fitment is really good. But as John said, I held off until I installed the TP spacers which created a situation where the UCA was hitting the coil. Otherwise I would have waited until the oem UCA failed.

Don't want to push you into buying anything, but no bull the difference is amazing. As soon as I can replace the rack bushings I'll have a solid "rattle-free" front end.

One of these days I'll get the write up posted :anonymous:

If it rides and drives fine, I'd leave it. Caster doesn't impact tire wear so even though it's a little low, as long as its comfortable at speed, no need to mess with it.

when I was looking into buying my truck, I knew actually what I wanted before I even got there. so we went, told them what I wanted. tried to convince me into an offroad that was a long bed "just like you want". I said no, they don't even make and offroad long bed. finally he found the truck I wanted about 100 miles away and said I need to put a $500 deposit for them to bring it in but I made him write on a piece of paper the transaction saying that when the truck got here I would not be obligated to buy and my deposit would be 100% refundable. they brought the truck in about a week later and tells me here it is, your dream truck. trying to get me excited. I instantly told him "no its not" he looked scared and asked me what wrong with it. I said, its missing a transfer case. after about 30 second of him stalling and having no clue what was going on I said, its a prerunner not 4x4. he looked scared and went and talked to his manager. they sat me down and asked "what can we do to get you in that truck today" I looked him dead in the face and said absolutely nothing. they asked me what I wanted to do at this point and I told them I wasn't leaving without my deposit back (they were almost closing) and that'd id be going somewhere else to buy. really it made me most mad that after screwing it up they were gonna try and sell me something I obviously didn't want. I went there a few months later for a part and some of the salesman walked up to me and asked me if I was the guy all this happened too. I told them yeah and they all laughed and said the guy got fired and that there manager always jokes about not making that mistake. went to another dealership, ordered my truck and had it ever since.

He only has a 2.25" lift.

For the LR UCAs, I think it was something about the bushing or washers limiting the arms travel, causing them to break

Same deal. Knew what I wanted. Didn't care about color. Took the salesman for a spin in my 95 for kicks on their little "off-road" course, he mighta pooped himself a little, and he didn't mess with me either when it came to the sale.

We checked the lot, test drove a couple (wasn't sure I wanted manual or auto yet), couple hours later I had a new set of wheels. SR5 FTW!

Sorry guys.... I had to share this ;)

Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently,
and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu.
A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts.

However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws.
By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car.

MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills.

The Ornithological Behaviorist very quickly concluded the cause:
When crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger.
They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout "Truck."

Thanks guys. Yeah the truck is fine on highway and at speeds. I was concerned with the oem after seeing it was just cheap rolled steel.

Just spent the morning working on a buddy's sister's pathfinder. She was stuck in 4L, we got it out but she must have a bad sensor or solenoid cause electrically it thinks it is in. The traction control is off and the 4wd light is on.

Looks like we won't see anything until 9 pm @ 33 degrees, and it'll slowly warm overnight as it's raining. Gonna be a mess.
