Did this first, no answer :frusty:

I am doing something similar, just with two shop vacs. Big one on the table, then a small one at the other end of the hose to get the syphon going.

My ultimate advice is buy a utility pump, under $100..just connect a garden hose. The ShopVac way sucks in my tiny basement, can't stand up or I'll crack my skull on a beam or heating duct.

We used 2 shop vac's actually. Isolating when we were draining into bucket and keep on working. Problem with the pumps are that they need to be submerged so unless you have a hole in the basement you still need to gather the water up. My way worked great all we had to do was make sure we didn't let the bucket go dry.

That would have been the way to. To bad the only trash cans i have holes in them. Oh well, got it done. Dehumidifier is running. What a PITA

There is a sump pump here, but it must have froze or something. They have it setup under a platform in a little breezeway off of the basement, but there is no heat in there. I took the platform apart to make sure it is working now, but it will probably just freeze again if there is any water leftover in there.

I hear you, it is a total pain in the ass. We had the same problem, when were doing my parents the only trash barrel we had had a hole in it too. We lined it with a trash bag to make it water tight. Glad to hear that you got it done.

Evan, I just saw in the latest issue of 4wheel & offroad magazine a product that you may be interested in. It's a five switch panel from these guys http://www.wiringproducts.com/switch-panels. They make it custom so it can be labeled the way you want it to. They have one in the mag made custom with winch controls.

Wow thats pretty awesome, thanks for the link. It probably wouldn't be to hard to make my own switch panels or relay bank. Have you seen guys put switches in the sunglass holder? That would be a cool spot to have them.
