I've had my share of Nissans; an '87 RWD, a '94 4x4, a '96 4x4, and a '99 4x4. All but the '99 were the old Hardbodies, though. My '99 was a Frontier, I owned it for 3-4 VERY trouble-laden months then sold it and bought a Tacoma. Honestly, I probably won't go back.

 

Yeah I'm game for that. Just gotta get the grandmother's approval on that. Lol.

 

damn that sucks, and my dad had a 85 hilux 4x4, thing was a tank and has 350k according to his friend he sold it to, so it runs in the family lol, but the Tacoma is my dream truck and I'm close to getting to my dream

 

That Nissan is more like a taco than a second gen!!!

 

My 2nd Gen is much more capable on and offroad than my Frontier ever was. More ground clearance, more power, better 4x4 system, and MUCH better gas mileage. It's not as offroad capable as my 1st Gen was, but I definitely wouldn't go to a Frontier over a 2nd Gen Tacoma, even if all I wanted was bare-bones offroad badassery.

 

The only nissan I would consider is a diesel Titan. Other than that, Toyota all the way

the 2nd gen is a bit taller than mine as for gas mileage don't really care bout that cuz I have a work van I use for my job, but the best I got out my truck was 20-21 mpg all highway going 65
