Let that be a lesson to you, stay north of the mason-dixon line :p

FWIW though, the south refers to anyone north of that line to be a Yankee. It's a silly argument but the civil war is still very much ongoing to a lot of people down there, you'd be surprised.

There's a lot of people down there still butthurt about something everybody's great great grandfathers fought about.

If anybody gives you shit about having such brilliant generals like Robert E. Lee, just say "Gettysburg" or "Pickett's Charge" to them and they'll usually shut up about it. Lot of folks in the South seem to have it in their heads that R.E.L. was infallible. He was a great general and an amazing tactician, but he still made huge mistakes, and a big part of why he had as many successes as he had was because so many of the Northern commanders during the early part of the war weren't willing to take risks or make hard choices.

    Just my $.02

Does anybody know of a tire shop in Massachusetts or Rhode Island that can swap my steel wheels for the TRD alloys for me without giving me a rash of ****? I have the alloys...when I call to make an appointment, the guy always asks me if I have the new TPMS sensors and then proceeds to tell me that if I don't it will be $94 each to get ones.
I mention a strap kit and they act like they do not know what I'm talking about. I do not want to drive around with the stupid light on and the strap seems an easy enough solution.
Drop me a line if you know of a place. I didn't realize this would be such a *f* production.

I don't know where you are in RI, but I would try Tire Pros in Johnston, and talk to Jason. He is good to deal with. If not them, try Tire Warehouse in Cranston. If you have already tried to deal with both of those places, maybe someone from southern Mass can name a couple other places.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Huh, my guy just swapped out the stems (from stock steelies) to a stem for the alloys. Same TPMS units, not a big deal.

Pretty sure they're different. The TMPS units for the steel wheels are at a different angle than those in the allow wheel. They're the same stem though. Some people have used the wheel straps, some have taken the TPMS sensor and rotated them 180 degrees and made the steel wheel sensors work in alloy wheels.

Pugga knows all. I think steel wheels the valve is at 20* and alloys are 40*. Maybe they flipped yours chris. Which can be a problem if you get a flat, it might destroy the sensor. Just what i have heard on here.

I tried Tire Pros. They told me that I needed to pay $94 each for new aftermarket sensors to make the switch from steels to alloys. He said he did not know anything about strap kits, rotating the sensors, or any other option. What I don't want to get into is a shop that just says 'yeah, we can do it' and then comes back and says 'no we can't' after i'm already there.

I keep hearing about strap kits that would save me having to buy and.or program new sensors and yet no one at the shops claims to know anything about them.

Oh - and if I get a flat, the sensor would still properly be in the steel spare, because I got 4 TRDs, not 5. So that one's not a problem.

    Will try Tire Warehouse tomorrow.

I'd just buy the strap kit yourself and bring that to a tire shop. If they can turn the sensors around and fit them in the TRD wheels, great, if not, hand them the strap kit and tell them to get to it.

I have a motor vehicle in which I can travel to Providence.

I can even make your dash pretty colors for additional pizza

Hopefully not by like, say, throwing up on the dash because of all that beer. Depending on the pizza you like that could be some pretty colors.

But I will let you know how I make out. I just ordered a kit so maybe we're good.
