Hey Mike, we were both blabbing for 3 hours, so it was fun.

They are the ones that come on the limited package so they are projectors and are styled differently than the other models. That being said, no way in hell I'd ever drop that kind of money on a set of headlights. I started looking into retrofits for the F150, there's a company that does them for the bargain price of $1,600 :jerkoff: I spent a little time on an F150 forum and I notice that the people modifying their trucks are the ones that would get thrashed on TW. Big wheels, lots of chrome, drop bracket lifts, etc and many of them don't do the work themselves, they buy it and spend an assload of money in the process. Next year some time I'll spend a couple hundred and do my own retrofit. I bought the tails because they have to be cut apart if you want them painted.
I know, I've been there, just giving you a hard time :) Kendra and I used to do that when we lived in Quincy except we'd walk down the beach and sit at an ocean side bar instead of a park.

Aha! So they're not powered by nuclear fusion; they're powered by douchebaggery and spray tan!

Heh. For that kind of money I bet that your stockers work just fine...:D

Nonsense. You can sit; you just can't order anything :D

Seriously, though, I used to go to the bar all the time when I was underage. There was one in town called the Granary that did an awesome pizza, and they brewed their own root beer. I used to go there all the time; as long as I was out before they really got busy nobody cared.

I hope you are talking about Marina Bay and not the Beachcomber.

Pretty much nailed it. I haven't even created an account on an F150 forum because, based on reading through a few threads, I know I'd just get banned. Lots of flat brims over there, I'll leave it at that. There are some really useful threads so I'll just stick to searching those when I need something. The Raptor crowd (read as more money than brains crowd) seem to really drive the aftermarket prices up. Check out Raptor Retrofits and you'll see what I mean.

Yep, stockers work very well and the Rigid Industries D2s will suppliment them very nicely :)

Hahaha, yeah. I liked Capt. Fishbones out on the bay. Beachcomber seemed a little sketchy... Never went there. I do miss the eats around there, I was right next to the Hancock Tavern and the Alumni Cafe (best bar pizza I've ever had).

Alumni closed. S6 and Rags have the same recipe but it doesn't taste quite the same.

I really prefer just the cheap "Silver Star" upgrade if I change my headlights at all. But I usually wait until one of the stock bulbs burns out before I buy the Silver Stars. I'm a cheap bastard like that :anonymous:

On another note; I rode to work for the first time all year this morning! Latest I've ever gotten the bike on the road, but it took forever for us to get a good rainstorm to wash the sand off the roads this year.

I did that mod too. Meh on the output.

I think I'm gonna be buying some 06 4runner headlights with the projectors.

Damn, that sucks... The owner lived across the street from me. I wonder why he shut it down. He wasn't that old and the place always had people there.
I thought about that but this truck has daytime running lights. That means the low beams are on whenever the truck is on so PIAA or Silverstars will blow out in no time since they already have a shorter life span than normal bulbs. HID's would be a nice replacement or I'm even considering the LED lights but we'll see... For the money, I might just retrofit and be done with it.

My bike needs a tune up badly. Sadly, might not make it on the road this year. :(

Try another forum. Having a Grand Am, I was a member of a few forums. One of them is like TW, most people are friendly with each other and there's a lot of useful info. Another forum, which has many of the same members, seemed like a place to pick fights.

Yeah, that's the downside of the SS's for sure; Once I install them it seems like I'm installing new ones about once a year.

Does it need the carbs tuned or what? I can definitely understand not being able to get it on the road this year; having kids does that.
I used to have a whole group of people I'd go out riding with on the weekends; now half of them have kids and have sold their bikes, and the other half sold their bikes because we didn't have the big group rides anymore. Me personally, I commute on mine, so I'm perfectly fine with riding on my own. That being said, though, sometimes a group ride is just more fun.

I tried 2 of them so far and the attitude seems to be the same. The technical threads are fine but the ones regarding any type of modifications just seem to turn into a dick measuring contest. I'll just stay here and keep asking you Toyota folk questions about the Ferd :)
It needs the carbs cleaned and tuned, spark plugs and a valve adjustment (I'll do the maintenance while I'm in there like air filter and oil change also).

I used to commute on mine and love riding but the drivers around here are freakin nuts! It's not worth the risk with a little one at home.

    Yeah...
If I was driving to Boston I wouldn't be commuting on the bike. It's bad enough just driving through Lewiston, and I go in at 6:30, before the morning traffic really gets going.
If I had a kid I'd honestly probably sell the bike. If I needed a summertime fun vehicle I could always just pick up an antique truck or something instead. Like you say; not worth the risk if you've got a kid.

Beachcomber is a dive, but they have good bands there now and then.

I can say this about the Alumni. It sucked. Had to play darts there before and don't miss it. Those 3 bars are all owned by the same person/persons.

I clay bar mine every spring and just take the time to DA it. I've seen the Quik Wax and in a short time it works but if I can I'd rather use the DA.

That pic is my PIAA relay. Came home Sat night and went to the store, couldn't get the light bar to work. Guess now I know why.
