Washed, the scuffs polished out, and waxed. I even detailed the interior.
An unintended consequence of buying a nearly new truck is that I feel obligated to keep it looking that way. This was never a problem when I drove older models, but it's turning out to be a huge time suck with this newer truck. All in all it probably took me 5 hours this morning to go over the whole thing.

Loving the summer fuel. Truck has finally normalize to the 285/70/17. Exactly 5 gallons got me 112.4 miles. So pretty much 22 mpg at 65. Correctly setting the distance on the ultra gauge helped too! :) :) :D

Dave--did you recal you speedo/odo with a Hypertech or similar device (or can `you use the ultragauge for that?)? If not your numbers may be off somewhat.

No you can't recalibrate the speedo with an UltraGauge

I did re calibrate the ultra gauge per the manual. Once you set the distance then the mph and speed changes on the ultra gauge. It is right. The distance calculation setting is now 1.066 which just so happens to be the dif in the tire sizes. Aka 659 rev per mile on 265/65/17 vs 616 rev per mile with the 285/70/17. Essentially I am going 6.6 miles further per 100 miles that the odometer never sees Or 20 miles further per tank full. Before re calibrating, the ultra gauge was off on the speed as well being a few mph below the speedo in the truck. Now it is less then one mph off from radar at 65 mph. In other words, with the 285, if the speedo built into the truck says I am doing 65, the ultra gauge says I am doing 69.4 and radar says I am doing 70. (The Newport bridge likes to tell you how fast you are going, my GPS is within 1 mph too.)

I may still be slightly off but I believe it is closer to what it should be.
Also my truck has proven in the past to get an average of 21.9 mpg over 6000 miles during highway only use so I know it is possible in my truck.
I have to go to Kentucky for family medical issues in a few weeks. I will know for sure then. It is 904 miles door to door via google maps. Should be less then 3 fills.

I used to get high 21st until the new tires. Now I am down to 19.3 religiously. My GPS has the speed correct now, stock tires speedo was faster than real gps speed.

    Happy Gorgeous Monday, everyone.
Supposed to be 78 and sunny all day here, and I'm stuck in a windowless warehouse until 5:15.
Maybe I'll take a lunch break again...

There's so many trees up here that you can't see the road from any of the bedrooms now that the leaves are out.

Finally got my ass on a bicycle after a decade. Decide to see some scenery while getting exercise.
