I had a no-name Chinese full suspension bike through highschool and college and it was great! I finally wore out the bearings in the crank and couldn't find parts so I had to get rid of it. I beat the piss out of it though and it took all the abuse. I have a Mongoose full suspension bike now that I'd like to get rid of for a hard tail mountain bike. The smaller framed BMX and stump jumpers were never really for me.

I've still got my old "Jetta" Trek mountain bike I bought off a kid in high school. I think it's the 850 frame, they painted them to match the cars.

I never did care for the suspension bikes. I prefer hard-connection points on a mountain bike. As hard as I used to be on them, I was convinced that it'd only be a matter of time before those springs snapped and I'd be taking a digger.

I'm on the fence about selling it only because I know it isn't worth a whole lot. It's a great bike for me, but I want one I can put one of those seats for a kid to ride with you. Can't do that with a full suspension bike... I'd consider selling it depending on what I can get out of it. The thing is like new, it hasn't seen a lot of riding time even though it's probably 6 years old. I do have a more road oriented bike also so I might just keep the full suspension for trails and put the carrier on the road bike because, truth be told, I'm not going to go bombing down a mountain path with Joseph in a child seat.

I have pretty stiff springs on mine so for most riding, you don't even realize it's got suspension. Even if the springs snap though, you don't take a digger, you just land hard and you ride it out as a hard tail. There isn't much travel in them.

    I see.
I could probably get away with one now without any problems. If I ride now it's mostly just trail riding. I'm definitely not doing the 'through the woods, over that rock wall, through that brook, and down over the ski slope as fast as you can' type riding anymore. When I was doing that I used to have to clean and repack the wheel bearings on my bikes every two weeks from April through November. Not to mention bent/broken spokes and sprockets that had to be swapped on a semi-regular basis.

Awesome. I've got an old banana seat bike. I should do some maintenance and cruise around on it. They are pretty pimp. And super comfy. Mines got a really small tire I'm the front, like 13" diameter or so. And slightly taller handlebars than yours. Not exactly ape hangers, but pretty tall. I'll have to see if I can find a picture.

We got the iBert for Owen. It's pretty versatile, mounts easy, and he loves it.

As long as you have about an inch of exposed neck to clamp it to you're golden.
