thanks, the thing is that he wont be living in his house for a while, the plan is that hes going to stay at the hospital for a few more days then hes going to the home for a while to recover

 

It might be tough but ICU isn't all bad. Sure, it's tough to not have him at home but think of it this way, he's being monitored full time by some of the most qualified people you can get. Hopefully the few days in the hospital will help him along with his recovery once he's released.

 

yup that's the relief there, my mom works at the hospital that hes staying at so she checks up on him everyday

Spotted a nice silver dcsb 2nd gen on 95N by Scarborough today with MA plates. Had Thule rack, what looked like a low profile BAMF bed rack with a camping labs rtt on it.

Yea the full rigid wears on you pretty quick. Years ago I put a flex stem put on it just to help my wrists out but it is still quite tiring. I had a chance to demo a very nice full suspension Specialized 2 years ago. I took it around Foxboro where I normally ride and usually I am very tired after one lap and with that Specialized I was able to go around twice and it was not tiring at all. Big difference.

 

That's surprising, usually the full suspension bikes take more out of you since you lose some of your energy from the shocks compressing as you pedal. I do agree though that on a bumpy trail, they beat you up a lot less than a rigid frame bike.

 

New bearings and new grease with properly inflated tires on that brandy-new Specialized, though. That's probably the main reason for the easier pedaling; less overall rolling resistance vs whatever he was riding before.
When I was riding all the time I had a portable pump that clipped to the frame. If I was going to ride any distance on the road I'd pump the tires to full pressure because it's so much easier to pedal, and then I'd drop them back down when I went to the trails again.

 

All this talk about mountain biking makes me want to go do something outside

 

I notice you refrained from stating that you wanted to go mountain biking, haha!

 

I'm actually trying to pick up a trailer for the little one. I found a used one that looks to be in great condition. I read some articles about the seats vs. the trailers and got swayed. I think I can still keep the trailer with the full suspension bike. That oughta look pretty funny, full suspension bike pulling a toddler trailer.

 

That thing looks like a family death trap!

 

I bet taking off from a stop takes some practice...
