It's nice to know some things never change. Fords are still a PITA to change the oil (relatively) :) Today was maintenance day on the Ferd, now I'm onto house projects. Getting everything done before vacation!

Absolutely, the Tacoma is by far the easiest vehicle to perform an oil change on of all the ones I've owned. Once you figure out how to get the filter out, the rest is a piece of cake with the Tacoma.

Frs is easier... you don't have to find a drain tube for the filter run off hole like on a taco

Never used a drain tube for the Taco, I just kept a 20 oz. water bottle with my oil catch. I propped the bottle up on something (can't remember what) and had at it.

Other than getting under the car, my Grand Am was the easiest. The Tacoma isn't hard, just more messy.

Not bad. The Ford tricked me, the filter sits horizontal into the front of the engine, right over one of the cross members. There's a plastic drain pan under it and a run off spout in front of the cross member. So, silly me, I think, huh, they thought this through. I put the catch pan under the spout, take off the filter and it all runs toward the rear of the truck to a second spout on the other side of the cross member, collects on the front diff skid, then leaks all over the driveway  The 2nd oil change, I removed the silly air dam, the front diff skid and had to use 2 catch pans for the oil (one for the drain plug, and one for each of those stupid down spout things.

I can only image how it would be working on the rest of the engine. Do you have a V8 or the eco-boost?

I've always said I'll never buy a Ford. I don't think I could go back to GM though (if I don't get a Toyota again). They've recalled nearly everything they've made in the last 5 years. And Fiats just feel really cheap.

I have the V8, didn't quite trust the ecoboost just yet.
I thought I'd end up with a Chevy, I've always liked them. The Ford test drive did me in though. They've come a long way and I like a lot of the features of the new F150.
