The whole MA Fish and Game system is all messed up....online check in for deer during shotgun season....? cant hunt on Sunday?

let the local rod and gun clubs teach the classes for free or combine it with your firearm safety course that you have to take to get your FID card..make hunting more accessible to everyone (except for that jerk who loves to put his tree stand 10 yards from me in Sunderland behind Mt. Toby)

Yep, pretty much... Now to get the shot gun tuned up so the silly ass thing doesn't drop a shell every time you fire it

no need to fix it, that will be the MA gun compliance/safety feature in a few years...you will just be a head of the game

Is your Mossy still doing that? I guess yours needs a trip back to the factory, huh?

I suppose that is one way to limit the number of shells I can effectively carry.
Yeah... fuck Mossberg. Their customer service is the worst I've run into in a long time. I've been tinkering with it myself and I just need to field test it. Last few trips to the range I've forgotten to take it with me

I have a double barrel 16 ga. That would do the trick if I really need to but I've been keeping my eye out for something different. I think if I go with something else, it'll be a semi-auto. I can see myself doing more bird hunting than deer.

I had good luck with Springfields customer service . My xd40 spring broke , couldn't strip it down , just completely jammed up . Called them they paid shipping both ways and fixed it for free.

I've got an old Mossy 395KB w/a poly choke on it that I use for Turkey and Rabbit hunting, and I've carried it for deer before (never shot one with it), but I've made 60 and 70 yard shots on Turkey with it before. And target shooting slugs with it I've put all three shots into a palm's span at 100 yards before (which is pretty good, since I have fairly small hands).

I love that poly choke, though. I can Turkey hunt sitting in the morning with a nice tight pattern, then open it up a little for the walk back to the truck at lunch, then tighten it back up again when I get back to my blind in the afternoon. No unloading/reloading the gun to change the choke, no spare chokes rattling in my pocket, and no wrenches getting lost.

I spent weeks chasing Mossberg, exchanging e-mails, trying to call them, etc. They agreed to pay shipping both ways to send it back and then never gave me a claim number and shipping sticker.

    What, mine?

I had 2, one was a 16 ga, one was a 20 ga. I transferred one to my dad, I thought that was the 20 ga, could be backwards though... I haven't shot either one of the double barrels.

Billy's having his own conversation over there...

Either that or he's recommending going with a 20 for gun that's primarily for birds.

    Oh, I see...

I don't really like my shoulder so I prefer 3-1/2" 12 ga. shells. Why just knock it down when you can blow a hole in it?
