I've had huge issues with HP for years, similar to yours, but I kept on melting my processor

LOL sucks to be the renter!!!

I'd never go that far. I wasn't jumping the Hilux too hard, it's just an 05 that was on an island all it's life. It's frame was rusty and so was the exhaust. It's fairly common to have the exhaust fall off down there lol

    Morning :pccoffee:

I had an issue with mine but they were a lot easier to deal with. I had my HP for 11-1/2 months and my warranty was just about up and the hard drive crashed. They walked me through some tests on the phone, came to the conclusion it was toast, sent me a new hard drive, I sent the old one back to them and done. The whole ordeal was resolved in a matter of days. Sucks they're giving you such a hard time!

Ive seen a bunch of crappy HP laptops over the years, and would never buy one. If it is not crappy components or power plugs breaking off inside the unit, its mysterious overheating issues. I used to like Dell laptops, but even they are going towards crap now. If there is any way at all to get your money back, bite the bullet and buy a macbook. Ive got a few still running well from as far back as 2006.

Yeah, the marks on this driveshaft made the driveshaft you took off your truck look like it had a couple pimples and some razor burn.

I am unsure if it is HP or a company/contractor that HP hires to deal with issues that is busting my balls. I cant get a straight answer yet. I will contact HP direct later today if I am not contacted and and feel as if this will be fixed. I still have a HP Pavilion that runs vista that doesnt skip a beat since I opened it up and blew thru it with canned air.

    Morning everyone,

HP use to be good, wifes computer broke a few years ago and I got her one of those fancy HP's for her work and after a month it went to crap....picked up what I thought was a no name brand called MSI and it ran like a champ for many a years, come to find out MSI makes a great majority of components that the big boys use, just at a lower cost..... and for the record Microsoft 8 is the devil.....makes me want to go back to vista.....

I had two different HP laptops give me crap in the matter of two months. Returned the first one and bought the next model up to run AutoCAD for my business. Turns out that hard drive crashed after two weeks also. Said "F" it and ponied up for a Lenovo ThinkPad. By far the best computer I have ever had. Granted it set me back a little over a grand, but this thing laughs a 3D rendering. Doesn't break a sweat when running ArcGIS (which those who use it know how much of a hog that program is)

I've had 2 hp's and both were great, no problems. One I got for college in 04 and it's still kicking, the other I bought when I graduated in 07. One on xp, one Vista. They don't have the power they once did, but for basic surfing the net, ms word/excel they are fine.

Had a Compaq when I first started at my current company this at was nothing but trouble. Finally got a new Dell laptop out if them last year and it's great. Runs gis stuff no problem(arcgis, globalmapper), but more importantly it still run that stuff while I have programs using finite element analysis running(ridiculously memory intensive). No problems so far besides the thing is a tank and sucks to travel with.
Fwiw a bunch of guys at our office have Lenovo laptops, and they all suck. Constantly crashing, crap breaking etc.. No where near the computing power of the Dell's even when side by side the specs are the same our comparable.

So far my Lenovo laptop has been great. I immediately wiped Windows 8 from it. It's an ultrabook, so not the most powerful, but more so than my 8 year old Gateway laptop. I have my desktop if I need the power and memory.

Just saw Cam's doppelgänger! I saw a lifted black access cab with black wheels, a black off road bumper, sliders, and a rusty rear high clearance bumper, not to mention the black grill craft and BHLM. Lmao

SSDs are where it's at. Worth every penny.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad E545 that I put 8 GB of RAM in and a 250 GB Samsung 840 Evo. No complaints whatsoever. Very quick and I can't say enough good about IBM or Lenovo. All of our new desktops and laptops at work are Lenovos with SSDs and every server is an IBM. Totally bulletproof.

Our old HPs were great. We still have a fleet of around 100 dc5700s in service and not one has ever had any issue. Newer ones, not so much. The desktops blow through boards like crazy and the laptops have some weird quirks.

Hoping to stick with Lenovo now. This last round of desktops and laptops have yet to have an issue and our IBM servers are ridiculously reliable.

I just sent this message to the CEO and the President of HP---Message:
Good morning Sir/Maam, I have been a HP customer for a long time now with several devices. I recently purchased an Envy and a month into it I started having issues with the touch screen as well as the Bluetooth. Support tried to fix over the phone but I had to send it back. The turn around time was fantastic and they had fixed the touch screen but the Bluetooth continued to be an issue. After many many many hours on the phone they wanted to replace the wireless/Bluetooth card. The gentleman came out but this did not resolve the issue. I requested a new laptop and support agreed and began sending spec sheets out to meet or exceed my unit. After several attemps to send a lesser (hardware and/or memory) unit, I thought we had it resolved. When I received the new unit realized that they gave me a 4 cell battery instead of the 6 cell battery that I had originally purchased. I have been trying to get this resolved but have been just told they can not supply a unit with a 6 cell. I have since received the Envy that I purchased for my daughter, it came with the 6 cell. I have looked in stores as well as online and the 6 cell is available. I feel as though I was duped by supplying a spec sheet that included all but the memory was less then the Bluetooth was missing. There was more spec sheets that had an issue with wireless speed. When we finally fixed all those issues I missed the fact that the battery was down graded to a 4 cell. As I feel this was done on purpose and I can not seem to get this resolved thru the support people I am asking for your help. Thank You
