Why are you trading the XD, out of curiousity? (Personally, I'm a big fan of the M&P series and don't really care for how the XD's fit my hand)

Not sure if it's dumb luck or not, but my '10 seems to trip the light right at startup..has moe than once.

I love the xd . I just like to switch it up . And I'm not a big fan of letting guns sit in a safe .
I've read about the trigger reset . I believe he already upgraded the trigger . Thanks for the info .
    Something new . I haven't owned anything in 45 flavor yet .

Keep both, bring both to the range weekly. Problem solved :D

In 45 flavor, I really like my 1911. Little different but a nice pistol. Sort of large to carry though if that's what you're after.

    Gotcha.

When I jump into the .45 pool it's going to be with a 1911. I love the way they look, the way they shoot, and how they feel in my hand. Reminds me of my 5906, but thinner profiled. Currently saving my nickles & dimes for a Ruger SR1911. Of course, the make/model might change by the time I actually get one, haha!

If you're not stuck on Ruger, check out the Remington also. It's a nice gun! I really like shooting mine. I have the stainless model and upgraded some bits on it. I want to add the beaver tail but, for the money, there's really no benefit for me. I don't get 'bit' by mine and it's nice and comfy the way it is.

I handled an R7 when it first came out but wasn't impressed with the F&F on it. Although it may have been an early production model that hadn't had the kinks worked out of it yet.

There was a Kimber at the local gun shop that was so buttery smooth....but holy $$$, Batman.

Watching tv last night, I'm pretty sure 98% of commercials were political ads. I know it's the mid terms next week, but holy crap it was literally one after the other

I noticed the same thing. Watching the news it was "EBOLA EBOLA EBOLA EBOLA" during the newscast and "VOTE REPUBLICAN VOTE DEMOCRAT DICK PILLS VOTE REPUBLICAN VOTE DEMOCRAT CHOLESTEROL PILLS" during the commercial breaks until I got annoyed and just shut the TV off.

Best color, no doubt! Though I do like spruce mica as well.

My parents lived at ~2000 ft elevation so we always got more snow than the surrounding area. No substitute for 4x4 combined with snow tires. It's like having a tank, and it makes it easy to lose sympathy for the people struggling to get around.

Might disable the TPMS light by messing with the wiring behind the head unit. I didn't realize it would flash at me for a minute every time I start the truck. A solid light isn't bad...the flashing is annoying.

I definitely do miss my '99 at times.

    On the other hand....
Ability to pass going uphill on the highway FTW!

Plus if I really feel like driving bare bones I can always just take the Dodge for a spin.

    2015 TRD Sport
Hi all. I joined today, and if all goes well will be picking up a 2015 TRD Sport Access Cab this weekend at Toyota of Nashua. It's a little later in the year than I had planned, life and all.

Anybody in this area have a recommendation for a bed cover and a place to buy it? I'm looking for something that will keep out the snow and rain for the next six months, most likely a folding type but what's everybody's experience?

Thanks, looking forward to being part of the forum. This is my first pickup... we are getting rid of a Ford Expedition, so not really the same at all. I'm looking forward to the Taco!

Ya good point. I really like my truck, but it sure is anemic. Every time I get in the wife's t4r it makes me a little jealous

Ah, okay...I was thinking to myself I sore that he had those tires before. I hear what you're saying about TPMS though. My light drives me nuts. The only good thing is that those steel wheels are cheap if you ever do decide to get a second set. There's a part of me that keeps wanting to swap my TRD OR wheels out for a set of those just for something even simpler (and the lower offset seems to work well) but I'd need to be able to more than break even in the sale to do so. I feel like if I did swap them out, I'd miss them again. My first set was gone within a month of owning the truck and I always regretted selling them, so when I had the chance to get my set for next to nothing and sell my winter wheels I jumped. I do wish they looked better than they do with wimpier blackwall tires. I loved how they looked with the stock BFGs with the RWL, but with my Hankooks they're more just okay than OMG.

The funny thing is when I had my wheels/tires in my garage right next to the truck I could find myself getting 2/3rds of the way to work (maybe 10 miles) with no light and then it would finally come on. When I moved them into my cellar to get them away from exhaust fumes (I know, I know) I found that the light came on much sooner. I haven't had any issues with inspection with my TPMS light on, but I should probably get one this year prior to swapping the wheels just to be safe. Worst case I guess I could throw my current wheels in the bed.

I'm SO jealous. My truck rattles worse than any vehicle I've ever owned. I've got one at the base of my dash right in the center I can make go away with pressure. I've got the door panels rattling, the passenger seat is AWFUL, etc, etc. I've brought it in twice now and I get "TRD Option / Aggressive Tires" as a reason. Umm...if the truck rattles when it's stationary when you hit the seat with your hand...it's not exactly the TRD option or my tires.

You know...as much as I like all my electronic do-dads and whatnot, there was a certain purity of my old 93 that I absolutely loved. I had to add an OEM clock to it when I bought it. The only thing it had was PS, PB and A/C (that is still the best/coldest/quickest AC I had ever felt).

I feel the same way when I drive my GF's Honda, because I miss having a manual transmission. But I test drove Tacoma's w/the six speed and it just seemed way too busy to be convenient/efficient, so I ended up opting for a slushbox.

Yeah, I thought I'd struck the jackpot when I went from my '99 with a chronically rattly dash to my '10 with the quiet interior. I get a little bit of rattle from the passenger Access cab door on a rough road, but not enough to be annoying. It might even be the seatbelt knocking against the door :notsure:
Regardless, my new truck's a Cadillac compared to my old one.
