Got the Amsoil HD metal protector under the truck. Not too bad. I used 4 cans and that gave me a good heavy coat. 2 of the cans had stream nozzles and the other 2 had more of a spray. I went with the spray tip for a wider pattern. It's Amber in color which is ok with me - after all it's the bottom side...
Have to take the wheels off, drop the spare, and get 'er up in the air. For inside the rails, I used a tube that I got from Eastwood for a past restoration. FWIW, this crap tastes bad. Lesson learned: wear old glasses. Flipped the spare over while I was at it so I can check the air pressure when I change the oil. Why the put the valve facing up, I'll never understand. Here's a pict of the tube to get in the rails...

This..while I don't consider it maintainence, it's something that should not be a shock to have to replace unless it's in the first 5 or so years..

Alex, the fuel tank is $140 + tax. It would take about 1 week to get in because I would be ordering it from TN. The only ones that are any good are down south

1st gens have a metal tank?? With Toyota's reputation for dealing with rust, that could be problematic...

On an unrelated note, apparently Matt Damon's signed up for another Bourne movie that's supposed to be out in 2016. Not sure if I should be excited or not.

    Meh.
I liked the first three that he was in, but they're based on books (which I also enjoyed reading) by Robert Ludlum.
However, they've used up the source material, so any new movie will be a completely new creation. Not always bad, but it usually changes the 'feel' of a movie for me.

Loved the Bourne movies. IDK where the story line would go with it now though. How many books were written?

By the original author only three.
There's been a bunch that have been written under license by some other guy, though. Haven't read any of those yet :anonymous:

It may not matter if they've got original material or not; the movies are hugely different than the books anyway.

Nice meeting up with you yesterday, Mike...how much of the Fluid Film monies ended up at Bass Pro?

Looking forward to testing out the spraygun, hopefully I don't end up coating my garage in a fine mist.

Well, if you do, at least you won't have to worry about it rusting. :notsure:

Failing to see the issue :D

So what lift are you going with?
You also. All plus $30 was donated to Bass Pro :anonymous:

Good news though, I'm officially ready for hunting season. I picked up the last piece I needed.

This will be my first season so I was buying all the gear a little at a time. Last thing I needed was an orange vest. I'm talking to a guy now who will hopefully let me hunt his land. Hopefully I can get some meat for the freezer.

Love hunting season. Even if you don't get a deer, you get to spend a day tromping around in the woods with a gun. Can't beat it.

On a side note, I ordered a pair of spare mags online for the 1911. I ordered two stainless steel full-size 8 round mags, and I received two different part #’s. One is the correct stainless full-size 8 rounder. The other is a blued sub-compact 5-rounder and definitely does not fit. So I contacted the seller and they’re sending me a replacement and the necessary packaging to return the wrong one at no charge to me, so that's great. But how in the hell do you make that mistake?! I can understand missing the difference in size and part #, but missing the fact that one is stainless steel and the other is blued?! Baffling.

Also, if there's any veterans hanging out in here, thanks for your service.

Good luck with your first season. I am sure you will learn a metric S ton.

Dont be afraid to scout..ALOT. Deer patterns and food sources always change.

Every year, I get giddy for the Sept archery opener, and generally hunt through Xmas time before I start chasing ducks.

I hear ya, there's a ton of info to take in and I haven't even been in the woods yet. I don't have a bow, if I like hunting deer, I would consider picking one up in the next few years.
