A fair point, but at least I don't have googly eyes, buck teeth, and a bald white skull.

Thanks Billy! I just need to find a shop who will do it right and do it affordably.
Yeah I was surprised how much better it looks

Anytime you are woman enough, go for it..

On another note, for the paint try Copeland Chevy in Brockton. Ask for Rick in the body shop. My brother in law

i'm curious what your highway rpm's are like in 6th at 75mph because that's the main difference between them is 6th gear

Shrug. Probably the same. Seems like whenever a car company goes from a 5 speed to a 6 speed they keep the top gear the same and just rearrange the ones in the middle. Honda did it this year wit the Fit; the GF and I were excited because they finally put a 6th cog into the transmission and were considering trading up (because hers is taching 3500 at 75 in 5th) until we discovered that sixth gear on the new transmission has the exact same ratio as 5th gear on the old one.
Pointless, but they all seem to do it.

I believe they do that for smoother transitions between gears. That's the reason autos are getting more gears anyways. :notsure:

I just can't afford the downtime. I don't have a second vehicle, but I'll look into it!

I've read more than once the fj's 6th is a bit taller. not drastically though, its something like .86 vs .81

That's good then. That could make a difference of a couple hundred RPM's at 75, at least.

The one on the Honda is just dumb. The gears weren't spaced poorly with the 5spd; no reason to rearrange them. Just make 6th a taller gear.
    2013 Honda Fit 5th gear ratio- 0.727
    2015 Honda Fit 6th gear ratio- 0.727

yeah i must agree with your logic, more gears should mean lower highway rpm's but that is not the case far too often.
