I've done a couple day/overnight trips this year without the wife/baby. I'd love to do a long weekend with the three of us at a big mtn( Sunday river, sugarloaf, jay)

What I should have said is those logistics are a pita. Sawyer goes to daycare and love his teachers but takes a little while to warm up to new people, so slope side daycare is expensive and not s great option

Come on over on Saturday. My ski jacket is red and my pants are black. I should be easy to find.

I hit the lodge when I attempted to ski.

I have a snowboard but haven't been on it since my ankle surgery, much like Billy. The boots still fit fine, just need to get up the nerve to get back out there. I banged up my ribs pretty bad the last time I went and ended up collapsing a small part of my lung.

How old is the board? They have changed ALOT. I had a GNU Pickle and it was very forgiving

I hear you, the slope side daycare is expensive and you never know what your getting either. Well at least you've hit the slopes a little bit. This will be my 1st and probably last time of the year.
Hahaha I was just messing. I have to work on Saturday anyways. Sunday is my day for skiing

With what people wear these days, red coat and black pants would probably be fairly easy to find among all the pastel colors and urban camo.

Problem is, people would mistake you for a patrolman.

Maybe 5, 6 years old? It's a Burton. I could go down hills one above the bunny slop and turn left really well. I wasn't so good at turning right.

My problem is I started too late, that sense of if you fall you can get really hurt is strong and I'm not the most coordinated guy out there.

I've got 9 screws, 2 pins and a plate in my ankle.

Did you take lessons? I didn't learn to board until I was older and that sense of 'oh shit this is going to hurt' was there also. Taking a lesson helped the process so I could get through the beginning stages quicker.

Yeah, a couple of times. I did great in those, but they were the basics. My problem is keeping on an edge when I'm going. I'll be going along fine until I lose concentration, catch an edge and go down. It's the transition from heel to toe where the board goes flat on the snow and I wobble.

I really should try again at some point, I've got all the gear.

Damn it is nice out today. Just went outside and it's gorgeous out. Nice and sunny and no wind.

Same here. It all clicked when I went with friends and one of them said "stop being a *** and lean forward". I hadn't noticed but I was leaning back instead of attacking the mountain, you have more control when all the board touches not just the back edges. From then on it was Awesome. I like the board better than skis

Sounds like your hips are turning to face the hill. Also the board does make a difference. I had a miserable time on a high end board that a friend let me use cause it was above my level.

Skis ftw, either traditional or Tele. Never could get into boarding. I like being able to move around without having to unbuckle
