Brilliant! Did it have a fridge next to it also?
Electronics do break and don't always get service though... Short of a vehicle fire, the paper map will always work. I use GPS also but having a map and knowing how to use it is a good skill to have. I really feel peoples' reliance on electronics is dumbing us down as a whole. When the electronics fry, they're utterly useless because they don't know how to do things the hard way any more.

Nothing more amusing than handing someone a map and watching them spin it around over and over.

i really prefer a map for long road trips, i like to make my own route and use gps in congested city's. Its easier to avoid traffic that way imo and you can often pick a more scenic route

I use GPS when going to my work meeting and concerts, I know my way but if I ever miss a turn and don't know the general area it helps. If it's someplace I never went before I print Mapquest directions just in case. I do have GPS on my phone but never use it.

Had success with yet another 10 minute mod! This cost me $3.50

I hate the stock reverse lights, and having the aux reverse lights is awesome, but flipping the switch every time kinda sucks.

I wanted a way to be able to retain a simple on/off switch. No need for the 3 position switches, bla bla bla..

I thought at first, what if I just tapped the positive wire off the stock reverse bulb and ran it to the trigger on my relay. Problem with that is when you flip the switch, you'd end up kinda back feeding power to your stock reverse bulb, lighting it up and making it look like crap.

I did some digging on the interwebz (without even making a post with this question, even though it's kinda uncommon) and I came up with some 10A 100V diodes. The diode acts as a one-way valve, kind like a check valve. So I have it positioned so it will allow current to go from the stock reverse bulb to the relay trigger wire, but when I flip the switch, it will block the power from getting to the stock reverse bulb.

SO, I bought some on eBay (I have 3 extra if anyone wants to do this mod) and soldered wire to either side. After practically snapping my arm off trying to get the reverse bulb out of the tail light, I finally tapped into the red wire w/yellow stripe. Then I ran my wire with the inline diode to the relay's trigger (pole 85).

Easy as that! I put everything back together and it works! No back feeding!
