Did it scratch the glass or the tint? If you would do it over would you get them again or a different brand? Thanks for the reply.

 

Haven't checked the rear, but my fronts aren't tinted. It's minimal and don't really notice unless you look for it. They are pressure fit into the window channel so it's to be expected. My buddy got a different brand on his Ram and mine feel far more rigid and sturdy. I feel like these will probably hold up better.

This is why I was going to be looking for them but after some homework I found this problem. Was just wondering if anyone had any input on the problem.

 

I have AVS for 2 years..no issues at all. No tint though.

 

I had stick-ons in my chevy, but they didn't make in-channel for it..plus they were free

 

Yea I was thinking AVS but didn't like the stick on. Figured in channel would be better. What would you guys do in channel or stick on? On the fence with what to do.

 

My AVS are in channel, that's the way..the only reason I did stick-on with my Chevy truck is they didn't make in-channel for that truck

 

For those who have done aftermarket stereo..

What do you use for speaker wire?

I had mine done when I first got it..just didn't have the time to wire it myself back then. I already had the passenger side break from closing the door and it turned out the wire was oxidized at the terminal and broke. Not sure what was used but it doesn't seem very good.

Running 100x2 watt amp for the doors, so I'm guessing 16 gauge would be sufficient.

 

I am using stock wiring except I will be rewiring my sub enclosure for the 600A sub

 

I had a set of in-channels on my 2007 from 2007 til last year when I traded it. I did have the windows tinted also and never noticed any scratching. From time to time, I would run a clean cloth inside the channel to keep it clean. Regardless though, it should never scratch the tint. The tint is on the inside of the glass, the vents only contact the outside of the glass. I don't believe I had weathertech though, I can't remember the brand I bought, maybe ventvisor? I would NOT go with stick ons, the adhesives eventually start to fail and pull away from the truck.

 

I have the weathertechs and I like them a lot. The scratching on the glass is not anything I would worry about. Mine have not scratched but on my wife's car (she has weathertechs too) they have scratched the top 1/8-1/4 inch of the glass. The benefits far outweigh the cosmetic flaws. I like being able to crack the windows to let the heat out but it stays dry if it rains.

 

As far as the stereo stuff. I have been sitting on the sound proofing all winter. As soon as it's nice enough outside my truck will be done.
