Station wagon? The only wagon I remember from that movie was Jennifer's father's Eagle that briefly showed up when Marty got the clock tower flyer.

Needle's truck was nice, but I think I'd still rather Marty's.

 

Rob--what made you decide to gusset your spindles?

 

IDK, I needed to get new wheel bearings anyways and we had some trucks in NY with only 1K on them so all I had to buy was the gussets and have them welded on. After checking out Allpro's site I got them on sale with free shipping so it only cost me an extra $40-$45 or so I figured why not.

He's good. He doesn't like the Percocet they gave him because it puts him to sleep, haha. No tingling in his fingers, and no numb spots, so it looks like he got away without any nerve damage. He's going to be taking it easy for the rest of this summer, though. No gardening for at least a couple of weeks, probably, and definitely no firewood work until next summer.

I always liked that J20 Gladiator from the Tremors movies, myself.

I absolutely love the first 20 or so minutes of that movie and then the last 30 minutes. Not a huge fan of the middle though. Basically any/all chase scenes are what I enjoy watching.

The Pursuit Special is on my short list of lottery winning car purchase list.

 

Mad Max is kind of a weird series, because the ENTIRE first movie is a background story for movies that hadn't been made yet. That's some serious cojones on the parts of the writers/producers/director to assume that there'd be a demand for more.
And then the only thing that shows up in the sequels (besides Max himself) is the Pursuit Special, which promptly kaputs in sequel #1 and doesn't feature at all in sequel #2.

 

Agreed. That being said, you could easily create a prequel to the first one, to show how society was starting to crumble, and a 1.5 that shows the wars and de-evolution of society. I prefer to ignore Beyond Thunderdome ever existed.

The interesting thing is there is already a prequel comic to Fury Road which features the Pursuit Special for the majority of the issue, which is interesting since it's such a small piece of Fury Road, yet perhaps the iconic image of the series, at least to us car guys.

I used to spend a lot of time perusing www.madmaxmovies.com reading about the movies. The funny thing is I used to be obsessed with those movies when I was younger because all I saw of them was about 15 minutes of the Road Warrior where Max met the Gyro Captain and the Pursuit Special was behind them. I was a huge fan of the Sega Genesis game Outlander and didn't realize that movie basically borrowed from the Road Warrior so when I saw the car, I was thinking, that's Outlander! By the time I actually saw Mad Max, I think I had hyped it up so much that it was just going to be Max driving around for 2 hours, the middle of it almost let me down.

Watching Pitch Perfect for the umpteenth time again tonight. Jacob loves this movie and we watched it a ton of times last year and now that the new movie is coming out it was on again and we have it on DVR. Oh boy...
