I had more fun working the golf tournament than I ever did playing. I was standing at one of the holes (a par 3) busting balls and making bets about who would make the green and who wouldnt.

That sounds like fun... How much booze is involved at your tournament?

    Happy Monday Morning, all!
    :pccoffee:
I see you guys had a busy weekend. I just took a trip up to Farmington in the '69 with my Chainsaw (and gear) and dropped a few trees for my parents. Left the leaves on them to suck out any moisture in the wood, and in a few weekends I'll go up and start working them up into stove length and hauling them out. Then yesterday I just did house chores like mowing lawns, weeding garden beds, etc.

Edit- If you guys aren't wearing safety glasses when you weedwhack, I recommend that you start. Mine probably saved my left eye yesterday. I had a piece of the cord come off, bounce off of the wall I was cutting against, and hit my face hard enough to raise a welt on my forehead down onto my eyebrow and scratched the lens on my safeties.

I had BAMF's plated sliders and they were awesome! I sold them to a TW member in central MA when I traded the truck. The only issue with plated sliders vs. steps is they're built to be sliders first and plated to double as a step. That means they're tucked up tighter to the cab than a typical step for clearance. If your concern is that high first step for someone older or short, sliders might not be a great option. When I had my BAMF sliders built, I did like Rob and had them angled flatter so they would be lower to act as a more functional step. BAMF typically angles the sliders at 10 degrees so they tuck up close to the cab, I had mine set at 5 degrees so they stuck out a little further and were a little bit lower. I have a few pictures of them in my gallery, with the new TW, I can't figure out how to post the pictures here.

I didn't plate mine, but the angle on them is 15* and my kids use them as steps pretty well. My wife hates them as she's at just the right height where it's awkward for her to use them or try to step over them, lol! I've seen a few guys request no angle which gives them a much better option as a step. On another note I thought I saw someone post 2 sets of NFabs in the NE buy/sell thread not too long ago, unsure of the make or model. I assume they were not the correct size or he would have jumped right on them.

I'll just drop this in here as I'm getting tired of looking at these in my garage, LOL......

I have two sets of Go Rhino Dominator D2 Bolt On Nerf Bars - P/N G26D24411B.
As far as I can find, they will fit a 2005 - 2012 Access Cab. I purchased them for my 2011 Access Cab and they fit perfectly and are very strong.
Both sets have what I believe is a 3" main tube and 2" step loops.
Here's a link to the bars being sold online to see if they'll fit: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Go_Rhino/Nerf_Bars/G26D24411B.html
One set was installed for a couple of years and has some surface rust that will clean up easliy with a sand blaster, wire brush, etc.....
The other set is new and still wrapped as they were never installed.
I took off the old ones to put on the new ones and liked the truck better without anything on it.
The old ones have stainless hardware and an aluminum step that conforms to the step loop.
The new ones come with whatever hardware was shipped with the bars and has a black flat step bolted to the step loop.
Im looking for $275 for the new ones and $150 for the old ones.
I will not ship these as they're too long. I will meet up anywhere in Connecticut which includes Ct's borders and will accept cash only.
Any questions, or requests for more photo's, just let me know....Here's some photo's:

I messaged Rob already but I figured I'd ask here as well. Is anyone here who has done the ECGS bearing (Billy, David, Rob?) willing to help me tackle it in a few weeks if I order it? I have the faintest of vibrations and would like to nip it before it becomes a bigger issue. I feel bad asking my buddy after he volunteered 10 hours last weekend and neither one of us has done this before as far as knowing what we are doing and having that experience would be huge. I have a garage and air tools, I don't have the socket for the axle nut. I would probably suck it up and buy my own set of tools from ECGS unless you still have a set.

    Thanks in advance.

Before you buy tools, look into renting them from Advanced or Autozone. They have tool rental programs, much better than buying in your case since you'll likely never need something like that again (or at least not anytime soon hopefully).

I have the removal tool from ecgs . You can borrow it if you want instead of buying it . I just need to find it in my tools boxes .

    Mikey,

Just a thought: I have SOS sliders that are true bolt on and were built at 0°. I used punched metal sheet as a fill plate so that they would be functional as steps. They are held on by 6 or 7 bolts with at least one through the bottom side of the frame. A coat of POR-15 and then some bed liner and all is well.

The POR 15 you used, did you have to brush it on? I don't see any spray can applications of their product on their site

I think all their stuff is brush or roller applied. It's good stuff though from what I've heard from anyone who used it. Prep is pretty intense but it's supposed to be great stuff.

We have a keg at the clubhouse and a keg at the snack bar. They also sold "bag of beers" to take out on the course. 6 beers and ice for 22 bucks

I used it on the frame of the hotrod as well as my sliders and it just brushed on. It wants to be applied over rust (Paint Over Rust. POR). I applied it to the sliders after cleaning the oil off. Then primers and used the spray liner to finish and they looked brand new when I traded the truck.

Yeah it's about the same. One keg at the club house one at a place on the course and then there is a beer cart that comes around as well as Jello shots being sold at certain areas as well. They drink a lot over there.

Rachel is planning on going to Bully Hill winery while we are up there

Brushed on with cheap through away chip brushes from Ocean State Job Lot. Don't take the lid off of the can, instead drill a small hole on the side of the can near the top. Pour out what you need and seal the can with a sheet metal screw and, if needed, a rubber washer. Taking the lid off guarantees a solid block the next time you need to use it. I knocked the gloss off with a purple scotch brite pad prior to the bed liner.
