Hmm, I'd like a 2nd gen 80-81 Camaro, and you pay for it and deliver it *grin*

Ideally I'd like a 1st gen..who wouldn't. My holdover would be late 2nd gen. I had a couple of 3rd gens though..my first car that I just missed buying was a white 81 Berlinetta.

Disco Camaro versus the 70.5-73? The early ones were beautiful cars. I liked the T/A in the late 2Gs. At least you could get the 6.6L in those, albeit serious low power versions.

I was watching the Mecum auctions a few weeks ago and a disco Camaro crossed the block at over 10K, which surprised me as I didn't think those cars had resurged in value yet.

Yeah I wouldn't mind a 79 TA with the 6.6 and shaker hood either. I do like the early 2nd gens but I'm talking about something I can maybe ever afford in my lifetime..

    My friend bought a 1980 Z-28 brand new. Midnight blue,cowl induction, a real 350 4 speed car.
Nothin wrong with them. Think it cost him 10 grand back then.
Stolen in '85. They found the burned out carcass on the cross Bronx a few months later.

If I needed to build a Chebby right now, I would go with a mid-80's Monte SS body or 1980ish Malibu. Both are cheap, full frame, and a 383 would fit like it grew there.

Had a couple of Monte's from that genre..wouldn't mind a 78-81 before they streamlined them. Malibu is a nice sleeper

In some states you still can ride in the back. Just can't be on the upper rail and not on the interstate.

But the old muscle car sounds soooo much better. I'd almost intentionally lose just to hear that thing screaming.
