I've always liked Audis, but I'd be afraid of the service bills. Back when I was in high school a good friend's father had a 96 A4 2.8 non-Quattro 5MT. At the time the B4 bodystyle was still basically brand new (the B5 came out my senior year) and his was in basically new condition. I spent many a night "borrowing" the car with my friend. Somehow even when his father found out we were taking it, he was more okay with my driving it than his friend. I'll always have a soft spot for the B4 A4 because of that.

Don't the A4s hav something like 16 ball joints in the front end or something ridiculous like that?

Unrelated side note, has anyone noticed it's nearly impossible to sell things these days? I've not had a single bite on anything I've been selling cross my truck, car, my Mom's old Rogue and her new Forester. Shipping prices have seemed outlandishly high though these days and it's making shipping anything cost prohibitive.

Not sure how many ball joints it has, but this has 67k on it, one owner, and it's pristine inside and out

    Morning everyone!
I'm going to be moving to NH in the upcoming months and I'm trying to look around for any good shops on the New England area to have work done. Any suggestions?

Why an audi alex? Not that they're not nice, but parts/repairs are expensive.

I think they are very nice but like Seth said repairs are expensive and often. They seem to be plagued with electrical problems

Dirt bike is almost up and running! Got the clutch swapped out, waiting on a new cable since it was pretty frozen. Also got a present from the wifey, new Pro Circuit exhaust system. This winter I'll tear it down, get the new exhaust on, open the air box and rejet the carb. Should really wake the bike up.

    Nice beetle Alex :D

    Hello TW,

Just got back from a difficult negotiating session with a used car dealer here in Massachusetts. He outright refused to negotiate at all on the retail price of the truck, despite my offer of $6,250 cash. He's asking $8995. According to Edmunds TMV, his price is $2,992 over retail. KBB says $2,334 over retail. Black Book says $2,100 over retail. It has been on his lot for 85 days.

What do you think is a fair price for this vehicle? He's claiming that the "CarFax Price Adjustment" of $2,830 over retail justifies his price of $8995. Is the CarFax adjustment just total BS on his part?

    Specs:
    • 193,875 miles. 2.7L, Auto, 4x4. SR5. No cruise, no power win/lock.
    • Body is Excellent. Underbody Good. Interior Good. No accidents or body work.
    • Frame is Good. Replaced by Toyota 2009.
    • Engine Compression is Very Good (tested). Fluids clear. No leaks.
    • Needs E-brake fix, new front shock/struts, A/C recharge.
    • No cosmetic issues whatsoever. Tires good. Bedliner excellent.
    • Serviced by Toyota dealer for most of life. 58 service records.
    • Clean Carfax.
    • Good test drive, no issues.

Just ordered 5 tires from dtd. New bfg ko2's in 275/70r17. 285s would be nice, but I really doubt a few tenths of an inch will make a difference. Plus they beat the 4wd hardware price of $189/tire shipped(vs dtd @$221) by $40 and dtd has a $100 rebate on them. After seeing them in person on a few guys trucks at work they are a pretty Damn good looking tire. Hopefully they live up to the hype.

Maybe some cutting for a HC rear bumper, re-gearing and installation of other little stuff that I don't have the tools or knowhow.
