Just got the URD MAF/MAP calibrator. Going to have my truck tuned by the shop upstairs once I get the 76mm TB installed.

Then we begin turbo planning :)

The previous owner had it registered, can't remember if it was a MA plate on there today when he dropped it off. I was thinking of going to 4.56 gears on the Taco  also have a AFE throttle body space to install--I know its probably an imaginary performance gainer but it was cheap enough...

Did he give you the actual registration?
The registry told me i had to have the original not a copy of it because people just move the plate from one trailer to the next and don't register them again.
    PAIN IN THE ASS!

So what does MA do if somebody welds up their own custom trailer?

first youd have to go through this

    https://secure.rmv.state.ma.us/Poli...usettsassignedvehicleidentificationnumber.htm

    then
    1. How do I register my newly purchased trailer?
You’ll need a signed and completed RMV1 form from your insurance agent, proof of ownership* from the seller, and the applicable fees.

Along with the completed RMV1 application, you must submit one of the following documents:

[IMG] A Certificate of Origin (new trailers only), or
[IMG] The previous owner's title, if a titled trailer, or
[IMG] A bill of sale, if a non-titled trailer

*An old registration or excise bill in the name of the seller may be used as proof of ownership or a Certificate of Title for the trailer may be used.

An acceptable Bill of Sale for a trailer must list the following information:

[IMG] Name and address of buyer,
[IMG] Name and address of seller,
    [IMG] Date of purchase,
    [IMG] Purchase price, and
[IMG] Identification information (VIN, make, model, and year)

If the total gross weight of a trailer - the combined weight of the trailer and its cargo - is 3,000 lbs. or less, no title is required. If the total gross weight of a trailer is 3,001 lbs. or more, a title is required. The gross weight of a trailer is determined by the manufacturer and will appear on the trailer's Certificate of Origin and on the trailer itself.

When i went to the rmv and tried to register Fitzy's trailer they told me i needed the rmv1 form,a bill of sale and a title.
I had the stamped rmv1 form from my insurance co and a bill of sale and by the time i left there without the trailer registered i had talked to 2 people and a supervisor.

You can register a trailer in Miane but Mass has a hotline that people can call and report the Maine plate and get you for excise tax evasion, gotta love Mass!

MA trailer registration sucks ass if it's not previously registered. I bought one with a bill of sale and the title, the trailer was never registered. I spent a good 45 minutes at the RMV window (after the normal wait) arguing with the lady about how it was not previously registered. I eventually won the fight but it was irritating.
    Good f-in luck...

THIS--I've prepared myself for all of this rigmarole as he actually never did register it and has no title. So its not too bad as long as I follow the sequence and the process. I want the trailer to be sale-able down the road ya know?

Are you going to say it's 3000 lbs?
Anything over requires a title according to what Erik posted and that's what they told me.

I'm going to take it to a scale and find out--the kid said he thinks its around 1000# but I want to know for sure. At any rate I know I'll need the MA generated VIN

It's the weight of the trailer and what it's carrying
