We can argue about who beat who on a game by game basis. Or we can look at stats and realize that the Pats with Brady have out performed the entire league that there is no debate. Of course there are games where one team smokes another, but on average the Pats do more smoking

Who was the Pats first round pick in 08 and who will they pick in the first round this year?

 

Both of those teams were 18-1 as well so they don't top the Pats, merely equaled them--and none of those teams that year have 4 SB rings

 

If the best you can do is blame their winning on a deflated footballs and common practices. And the whole idea of deflating is another story.

 

Really? 18-1 holding a SB trophy tops any team that goes 18-1 and lose by 3pts (is that better?) in the SB.


And by the way Montana has 4 rings in 4 try's. He is 4-0 in the SB

 

Well this isn't the NFL trash talk thread so maybe we can migrate that way. But before we do we can google best football team of this decade and best quarterback of all time. Google doesn't lie

 

I'm not blaming... I'm a real NE fan that is embarrassed by almost every Pats fan.

I can admit they cheat. I know right from wrong! I don't hide behind "everyone does it" or a deflated football.

I tell my kids... Brady cheated and he should come clean. Not lie about it! As much as I can't stand ARod, after he came clean and told the truth he is much more likable.

 

And yet he only made it to 4 SBs. Brady has piloted his team to 6 appearances

At the start all I said was:

1. The pats are not the only 18-1 team
2. 18-1 and losing the SB is not the same as 18-1 and winning (winning tops)

 

adam vinatieri & other teams play books piloted the pats (not "his team") to 6 SB

 

I would have been OK if that's what you really said but you said

No arguing that I would rather have been 18-1 with a superbowl win! The fact is they lost both SB's against NY but they didn't get smoked in either of those games. Going back to the 18-1 season discussion, I'm pretty embarrassed that they hang that sign but no other team has ever done better than 18-1 and no other team ever has won 18 regular season games without a loss

 

I see what your saying: I always say there is never fact of the greatest of all time team or player!

As much as I hate to say it the Dolphins hold the only undefeated season so.... I feel they are the best. Outside of SF & Chicago know one can argue that because they hold a trophy! (Not a second place trophy) I think it is laughable to put an 18-1 SB losing team with the greatest teams (YOU NEED to WIN the SB)! Just my (and everyone outside NE) feeling! I will argue best regular season teams ever... But come on I would sound like a NE fan with blinders because all that mattered was 19-0

So again I put 50 teams ahead of them

 

And no team has ever won 18 regular season games - those teams Won 16

 

The Cubs & Mariners won 116 regular season games and didn't win the WS. They have no argument for greatest teams of all time.

 

Sorry... I get more and more bitter about the Pats with every Manning SB win!

Not trying to add fuel to the fire, but just a question/

But isn't that because the seasons back then weren't as long? Not saying I know much about football, or am a die hard fan/follower, because I'm not, but seems to me like it would be a bit unfair to compare "modern era" teams to "old school" teams. Two completely different things in my opinion. I feel the same about soccer, a.k.a. football to the rest of the world, when people try to argue about the same thing as the ongoing argument here.
