Oh man, sand the crap out of that and prime it. You could do a decent rattle can job to that in no time.

IMO plasti dip sucks.... But it's easily reversible, probably why it's so popular.

Wow that's really bad! I would defiantly bring that to my buddy's body shop. It's a real body shop not some hack place. Like I said before he does good work and he's not very expensive.

My last truck (96 Dodge) had a roof just like that. I slathered on 2 coats of POR 15 which got me by a few years until I was able to get it painted. The POR 15 did chalk up from the sun but it didn't let the metal rust. FWIW, I got it painted at a local vocational high school and it came out pretty damn nice. Stripped, primed, paint & clear for $1350.00 (granted that was about 2010) and that was with PPG's better line of paint to boot.

Mine was a Cummins... Hybrid turbo, marine injectors, BIG fuel plate. Talk about fast! Just couldn't keep a tranny in it. After the fourth one snapped the input shaft, it was time to let the ol' gal go. No exaggeration, it would lay rubber for more than several hundred feet if I held the brake and built some boost. Maybe that's why I couldn't keep trannies in that thing?? That was probably the vehicle that I liked the best and I've owned over a dozen so far. Well, OK, enough reminiscing.

Don't plasti dip it, that's not a permanent solution. It's popular because it is easily reversible, the stuff just peels off. Not a quality you want in your only layer of protection for your vehicle.
