Let me do some investigating this week, hit up all the grease fittings, and see what I find.

Going fishing on the swift river out near Amherst tomorrow. I'm a salt water guy... Fresh water is completely new to me... I'm super excited!

 

I will take all the rainbow and brook trouts you can supply.

 

If I catch any, and that's a huge if, I'll let ya know!

I will be! But I'm hitching a ride with my friend so I'm at his mercy for this outing... If I like it enough it might become a regularly occurring trip

 

What kind of fishing you gonna do?

 

My first Western New York State fly fishing trip was Awesome!!! I grew up in Hull, Ma and wicked tuna, cod, blues, striped bass, flounder , dog fish were the more normally caught fish!

 

I'm learning to fly fish. When it comes to fishing on the island I'm rather blunt... Unrefined... Put on a wet suit, swim out to some rocks and lob some plugs with my 12' surf pole. However I've never fished fresh water before, and want to learn to fly fish and figured I'd start! Also I want to make my own flys. They're really awesome to look at... My inner artist is geeking out

 

wow those are some beautiful fish! I don't think there's anything that big where we're going....

 

Nice. Fly fishing is on my bucket list.
When I went exploring in the late fall, saw lots of people out in the Deerfield. Guess they stock it regularly.

The biggest draw to fly fishing for me is I love camping and hiking. Light weight gear I can bring that doesn't take up any real space is a cool prospect. Not to mention it just looks like a blast!

Last time I was at LL Bean there was a young fella sitting and tieing flies. The kid was an artist. Must have been six of us watching and he chatted away as he worked. I would say he might have been 12. Very cool.
