I was just wondering how their prices were compared to say TAP or similar. Probably later this year I'm going to replace the shocks and was tossing around the idea of going with Fox. I'm a ways off from making that decision though...
There are some mean 5 lug long travel trucks out there.

Ohh contrair monfrair... It'll drop an ok stripe (for a weak 6). Open rear, T5, and narrow tires with a hard rubber compound lets it spin... On one side... Of course the tiny 6cyl rear that's in it now doesn't like it at all.

Oh, you've got vintage-style rubber on it, I forgot. Derp. Of course it'll lay a stripe, then.

The '73 Benz that I had right after high school that had F78-15's on it that were probably 20 years old. They weren't weather cracked but they were rock hard. That car would lay a 30 foot stripe with an inline six, but it'd also lock the brakes up in a heartbeat if you got caught in a rain squall. And that was a heavy car, over 3300lbs, so panic stops were dicey has hell until I put newer rubber on it.

Great old car, though. Perfect for a late teens/early 20's kid; 0-60 took about 10 seconds, it actually got almost 20mpg's, had a huge power moonroof and was sort of classy so girls liked it, and it had a really big flat back seat too. :anonymous:
And the doors were like the ones on a fallout shelter. I used to love the 'WHUNK' they made when you shut one.

3300lbs is pretty average I think. My Eldorado was close to 3900lbs.

My Tacoma clocked in at almost 4500 lbs. I wondered why it doesn't stop worth a dick it's about 800lbs over weight.

Last time I stopped at a scrap yard, the scale said my Taco was 4400lbs after dumping the junk.

I wish the Tacomas came with rear discs. Some say it doesn't make a huge difference. I've owned two nearly identical cars, one with rear drums, and one with rear discs. Having rear disc brakes makes a pretty noticeable difference in stopping power. You'd think for a truck that can have 1k of payload in the back, it would come with rear disc brakes.

Sold it. Made a mint on it too, because I only paid $1500 for it in the first place. Used the $$ for the down payment on our first house, which was the smart move at the time. But I regret it sometimes now.

True, but this was actually a fairly small car for the early 70's. From bumper to bumper it was only about 15 feet, and it was less than 6 feet wide.
That's about the same size as a Honda Civic now, but this thing weighed 600-ish pounds more. On skinny old tires with no ABS. Once I got new rubber on it it stopped on a dime (4 wheel disc brakes!), but until then it was...alarming

If you can lock your brakes/engage ABS rapidly, brakes aren't your issue. Get a highway tire with better traction and then touch the brakes.

It took me forever to wrap my head around that idea, but it makes total sense to me now.

If you go there all your going to be able to pickup right away is fenders, bumper covers rust patch panels etc and paint. The other keystone is another division that is based out of Pennsylvania. It's a weird setup, because if anyone ever does need any of that stuff I would be talking to and placing the order from a guy in Taunton but the parts are not available from there. o_O

    Morning everyone

Billy, how he going to know its you? Your in a Jeep
