Haha I'm just saying it had to be a nice enough hotel to have a hot tub. Otherwise that's what I consider roughing it

Mike I dragged my 34' TT up to NH and ME as well as out west and down to RI before I went seasonal. My GMC handle it no issues with a single axel, slow and steady was the moto. We weren't over our limit but we were close once everything was loaded, including us

I don't know... I've seen a few hotels with hot tubs you wouldn't want to go in!

I mean it's a single axle trailer, they tend to be a little more unstable on the road but with the light weight, it shouldn't be a problem. One of the reasons I bought such a little camper is I didn't want the drama of towing a 30' TT. I didn't want to be that guy going 45 up hills on the highway and 80 downhill being pushed by a 7,500# trailer or white knuckle it every time I pass or get passed by a semi. I want to set the cruise at 70 and just enjoy the ride.

^^^ That plus to me, we really don't need it. The only time were in the camper is when we are sleeping.

We kept creeping to larger and larger trailers, we were even looking up to a 28' and I told my wife, this is not camping. I sent her the layout of the little camper and said this has enough space for us, what do you think? Easier to tow, takes up less space in our driveway and I'm not tied into a bigger truck. If I want to go to something mid sized down the road, it will still tow the camper.

Go on time or early.. heard they get packed up really fast. Its too far for me to drive from the shop down there with traffic, I would need to leave early for work if I did. We have sent a few cars down before and all they did was sit in traffic the whole way down.

Welcome to my world. Today's advise: Don't ask the significant other to go camper shopping.

Damn. My parents have a rig like that now, it's a toy hauler. It's really nice but they quickly found out that they don't fit in just any campground. Those are issues I'd prefer to avoid. I can squeeze that little trailer in just about anywhere.

Lol. The good thing about the bigger units is when they bring friends there is always room. When it rains we had the larger awning and camper to play cards and board games. My girls used to bring a min of one friend each but usually more. We always had friends over also. My door is/was always open

I hear that. We'll probably upgrade when the boys are old enough to bring a friend. We're coming from a pop up so we never were the entertainment trailer but we bring a large EZ Up and set it up over the picnic table. We usually have the best campfires though.

Ran into the same problems with getting into smaller campgrounds. We're planning our fall/winter trips earlier. The g/f parents never camped before, so they came with us twice and really loved it . BTW- it's not really camping. This has a 10ft toy hauler w/ a half bath which is nice for guests.

I'm going to have a look at this camper today. Fortunately, my SO feels the same way I do about what we need to have in our rig.images_486a25e41de861ad61e1e1a4cd832a8007e95ab0.jpg

If you're up for a road trip, I know a guy in PA that will smoke any price I was able to find up here. His advertised price was about $4k less than what I was finding in MA, RI or NH. Also, I didn't look at that model specifically, but when I compared the Forest River Wolf Pup to the Summerland 1800 that we bought, some of the things that drove me to the Summerland were:
-the box was 1.5' longer even though they were the same overall length
-the Summerland was about 1' wider than the Forest River which was sort of surprising. I didn't realize they'd vary that much in width but an extra 1' in all directions in a small trailer makes a difference!
-they had similar unloaded weights but the GWR of the trailer was about 750 lbs higher meaning stronger axle. If the Forest River was full of fresh water, it only left you just under 500 lbs for all the rest of your gear (which sounds like a lot but you can get there pretty quick and without realizing it)
-Also, pay attention to fresh, gray and black water capacities if that's important to you. They seemed to be similar in the trailer I looked at, but sometimes that extra 5 or 10 gallons might be important.

It's a nice looking trailer, happy trailer hunting!

You guys started talking about big campers. It made me laugh. I just turned around and took a picture of it. My boss just traded his 38ft in for this 42ft'er last summer. This thing is ridiculous. It has 5 slide outs and a whopping 1 bed. Everyone makes fun of him saying "that is not camping""that's just dragging a condo with you where you go".

That sounds like us; camper, awning, and EZ up.

BTW Mike, yes that's a replacement to the original one... Lol
