same here, but now I use a little trailer I picked up from a friend, Built a cover for it out of my old tonneau cover so I can keep things dry in there as well.

I use one of my other trucks for sheet goods, if I'm honest. They both can fit a sheet flat between the wheel wells and with the tailgate up. And they both handle a heavy load of it better than the Taco too. :notsure:
I helped the GF's parents roof & side their garage last year and I had 30 sheets of 1/2 plywood in the back of the '84 and it didn't care. Pretty sure the Tacoma would have been riding on the bumpstops, lol.

On an unrelated note (kinda), who here has had the leaf spring recall done? The most recent one. Do your shackle bushings squeak? Mine do and it's driving me bonkers. Especially now that it's summertime and I've got the windows down so I can really hear it.
I've tried shooting some silicone lube in there to quiet them up, but no luck yet.

I have a 2014 ecoboost (3.5L) xlt screw and I would replace it in a heartbeat if I totaled it. Summer gas yields 20 mpg with a "normal" foot and winter gets me 18 or so. The truck has some supreme pep when you get in the boost, and when you are just cruising around town, it is super manageable.

The stock brakes were shit and I had to have them machined at 35K, and now at 50K they need to be replaced...but besides that, the truck has been flawless with only oil changes and an air filter. A barely noticable dash rattle and a squeaky brake pedal (am planning on lubing it this weekend), but I have never had a car that was quiet past 50K anyways. Feel free to ask away and I can provide any insight.

Had mine done over the winter, I haven't driven it in warm weather yet since I have been gone however I haven't had any squeaks. If anything the car rides a bit stiffer now with the new leafs in back...

Yeah, the ride has definitely improved. It's just noisier, is all.

Yea I haven't heard any noise, I'll let you know when I get back. Might be worth bring it back to them and having them lube it up a bit more. I'm fighting my dealership with my brakes, which have squeaked almost day one since I bought the truck used from them and they said they were brand new pads and rotors. I might just tear it all apart this summer and redo it all myself but I'm just lazy right now.

I had the leaf springs done just a few weeks ago but haven't noticed any new squeeks that I didn't have before. The one thing I do hear that's driving me :goingcrazy: is what sounds like loose washer jingling around. I've gone over the whole underside of the truck and I can't find anything. Only hear it over bumps though.

Yeah, that would be annoying too.

Have someone strap you to the underside of your truck and then drive you down a bumpy road, lol.

My springs were replaced one month ago. No new noises. And now that the weather is warm I would notice with the windows down.
-- I also notice a slightly stiffer ride, but curiously lost about 1/2" in height in the back. --

    A 1/2 inch lower? That's weird.

You could do the shelf method with the 2x6s but I didn't bother..I just slide them in with the tailgate closed 1 at a time, strap em down, go. When I get home I drop the gate and they lay flat along the wheel wells.

I only live 10 minutes from the place so that helps.

Well, just fired off emails to two local dealers with comparable trailers and mentioned the price I found on a similar model at the PA dealer Mike shared. If either one is willing to deal that low, I'd prefer to keep my business local, but I'll drive a few hundred miles to save a few grand any day. Any of you guys ever dealt with Flagg RV in Uxbridge or Rousseau's in Lakeville?

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I've talked to the people at Flagg RV but never bought anything there. Seemed OK but you never know until you go through the whole process
