I could be wrong but I believe the chimes is internal with the factory radio so if removed that's why you need the AS 1. If that's it, spend the $80 on a good one instead of the Scosche POS one.

I think you're right on the Clifford, at least the easiest to start.

I goofed, it is the GM RC-01 module. Fortunately my source caught this before I started doing the work on it.

I know, I know, but I needed a half ton.
How old is the battery? One time when I was driving my Subaru back to a hotel I was staying at the whole dash lit up and went off. I got back and parked the car and everything was totally dead. Had to manually lock all the doors. Then it tripped the car alarm and the only way to stop it was to unhook the battery.. Ended up swapping the battery the next day and it was fine.

The battery isn't very old, I would say around three years. The cars starts fine when this happens

I'd remove the aftermarket alarm first .

Alarm is factory, the remote start is aftermarket.

    Morning, faces!
Spent all morning in Saturday chasing wiring on the '84 because of a charging issue (or lack of, lol). Replaced the alternator and voltage regulator to no effect, then started checking continuity. Finally tracked it to a mickey mouse connection behind the dash that some previous owner had rigged, after 5 hours in the sun in 90 degree weather. So I fixed his derp connection correctly and now it's charging again. And as a bonus, since I fixed it correctly the Amp gauge on the dash is working again!

But other than that, had a great weekend. Nice weather.

Had the open house for my house on Saturday, find out today about offers.
And am putting an offer on this today, it's in great shape, raised ranch, nice yard for the dog, nice size rooms ,garage set up is awesome, probably have to offer more than asking for it, but they are not asking a lot for it, fingers are crossed!
