What are some common CB channels that people use on the road? I need to find out if mine is working or not and I can't hear anything on any of the channels. I'm tuned to the following:
    Channel 1: 1.5
    Channel 40: 2.5
Couldn't go any shorter on the antenna and I have proper grounding on it as well.

19 is the traditional East-West'trucker' channel and 17 is the traditional North-South channel, so you're likely to find a lot of traffic on those near a highway. Around here 16 and 14 are both fairly popular as well. The local town garages and their trucks are on 10, but that might be just a local quirk.

FYI - don't use "good buddy" unless you're looking for someone of the same sex to 'take care of business'

So if you're testing a CB and need to confirm it works, might be a good way to get responses. For testing purposes only. Who's going to be the volunteer to test this theory?

I ordered a couple things to finish my cb mount on my truck... 62" whip. I'll test it out. Supposedly i should have pretty good range...

That movie is the holy gospel of radio chatter. It's how I learned to talk to ATC.

Haha I'm not sure on that one.

If your in a caravan of vehicles with CBs especially if there are jeeps with tops off (volume turned way up) be careful at toll booths. I have been known to shout awkward things into the CB when others are collecting change.

So, I've done my searching and come up with nothing that quite matches my situation. I had my trailer plug come undone on the interstate over the weekend and before I noticed it had destroyed the brake control wire. I took it in to a RV shop and got that fixed. While they fixed my busted plug, as I pulled out of their lot to go get gas without the trailer, my VSC light came on and hasn't gone off since. I've read a bunch of threads about the VSC calibration after a lift, bigger tires, etc, but nothing like this. Anyone seen/heard of anything like this one before?

Morning creeps. How was the weekend? I can't believe it is August already, it seems like it was just June. I need some down time to enjoy the summer before it is gone.

Yep, my dog lives naked too. No collar at home. My yard (her yard) is totally fenced in but when we go to friends and such she wears a collar with one of those Nite-Eyz round lights hanging from it. She's a black lab so at night you can't see her at all without her red "blinky". This is going to be a hard week, she is not doing well and might have to take the big sleep. 14 years with her.

I'm very sorry to hear that! Mine's a chocolate lab, they really do become part of the family with their goofy antics. We've always had labs growing up and it's safe to say I always will also. Their great dogs!
