Exactly, I need a full size next time and I love the Tundra but they are super expensive.

No, but it'd reduce clearance between the body/frame and the ground, so it'd be more likely to drag ass on a departure, or stuff a rock into the rocker panel. And it wouldn't help with the original low chin problem at all...

The local stealership is advertising a 4.6l Double Cab SR5 for $36k asking price, as opposed to a 3.5l Access Cab SR5 3rd Gen for $33k. Not that big of a difference, really. Plus the SR5 package on the Tundra seems like it gets you more goodies than the SR5 package on the Tacoma. :notsure:
That MPG, though...When Toyota tells you that you're going to be getting 17, you know that they actually mean 15

    Will do.

Well yeah, that mileage thing too. And now I have a little itty bitty snowmobile trailer to haul that the Tacoma doesn't do too well with...[IMG]

True, but I could probably find a F150 much cheaper. I don't usually get all the toys.

Granted it is used, but my 10 single cab cost me $17k with 6600 miles in October 2012

The thing is, you can get an F150 for $5k or more below sticker if you look hard enough. Even a Tundra that has sat on the lot for a year you are lucky to pay $1000 off that sticker price. Just seem to be way deeper discounts with the F150's and other domestic trucks.

Or more is right. One of the trucks I was looking at yesterday's got an MSRP of $43k and the local dealership is asking $34. Catch them on a good day and you could probably work them down to $31k or $32k. Throw in the 0% financing offer they're running right now and it's actually a pretty good deal for a brandy-new 4x4 truck. :notsure:

Ive gotten 16.8 consistently over the life of my truck. I have calculated it a couple times to check the accuracy of the computer.

Do you have the 4.6 or the 5.4?

5.7. The 5.4 was the Ford Triton that liked to eat spark plugs.

Now if you cut that down some more, such as myself only needing a single cab and maybe going without the 4x4, that's a much deeper discount.

I had a two wheel drive truck once and I swore to myself I would never do that again. I spend time on the sand and in the woods and use my 4x4 alot. Plus New England weather

I agree. I've made do with 2wd's in the past and it's certainly doable. But my job requires that I be there regardless of the weather, so a 4x4 makes life so much easier. And if the GF has to go to work in lousy weather having her in a 4x4 is worth the extra expense (to me) just for the peace-of-mind factor.
Plus there's the 'going up to camp' and the 'hunting season' convenience that a 4x4 brings.

Mine is 2 wheel and I've had zero issues in 4 winters with it. My Chevy 4x4 sucked to be honest.

If I went off road of course we have a different discussion here.

I've got the 4.6 in my 10 double cab and get 14 90% city driving.

How do your MPG's dive when you tow with it (obviously that can vary depending on what it is, just curious)?

No visible damage to the plug but I found some better info for checking the dtcs without a scan tool. The only one that was out of normal was the slip indicator light and it flashed six repeatedly, nothing else. Reset all the codes. We'll see if the light stays out.

A coworker of mine just bought a 2016 GMC Sierra full 4 door with the All Terrain package. Truck goes for something like $54k, got the truck for $37k.
