The Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude HT's are, by all accounts, surprisingly good in the snow. They're a quiet tire for the highway just like the Dunlops, but the customers that I sell them to all say that their end users love them.
If you wanted something more aggressive, the new Wrangler Trailrunner AT's are rated for severe snow conditions (mountain snowflake) and are still a fairly tame pattern.
Wrangler AT Adventures have very high marks for snow traction, but they're more expensive, and since they're more aggressive they will be a bit louder on the road.

If you want to know if a tire's good in the snow while you're hunting, look for this symbol on it. It's not the only determining factor, but it's a damn strong endorsement.

Also, Goodyear will have a series of mail-in consumer rebates starting in October. Usually for $40-80 on a set of tires, depending on what you get, but not all of their products are on it.

Go with a AT tire not an all season tire. You can get some light weight AT tires now a days and it won't kill your gas mileage. IDK if they make it your size but I had the Hankook AT in a regular P rated tire and my mileage went up from the stock Dunlops. Check them out

Are you talking these? If so it looks like they have them in my size.

I do have to say I love this site, I started with little to no direction on this and now have a great starting point to begin my search. Thanks all

We were having network issues so I cut out at 1030, went to the gym, and then home. At the park with my daughter right now

How are you liking those Coopers, Seth? The AT-W's or whatever they were.

They have been great so far. They look decent, are quiet, ride nice, and are wearing well. I think we'll probably get 50k out of them. They were also beastly in the snow/ice.

    Cool.
I wish that we carried Cooper here. I'd been a Cooper guy ever since I had a set of ST's on a Grand Cherokee. They were awesome tires, absolutely unstoppable. And at the time they were about $50 less per tire than BFG's, which in a 235/75R15 was saying something.

But, I was damn impressed with the Duratracs when I had them, too.

So when I bought the Vette I noticed it had a chirp when you started it on a cold morning. Did some searching and came up with it being a bad harmonic balancer, most likely. Once I pinpointed that I noticed you can actually see it wobble a bit at idle.

I had the harmonic replaced ($900 :() in June. I started the car last week and noticed when it was cold it was once again chirping and the balancer wobbles. Since I used a Chevy dealership, I ended up with a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty so I took it back. They're acknowledging the noise but claim it's within spec and only if it starts eating belts I have an issue. They claim they contacted the GM tip line and that the tip line said it was a bent crank. That made no sense to me so I contacted GM and asked if the warranty on the repair was good at all dealers, so I'm taking it in again. Hopefully it's just a bad replacement balancer (not uncommon, from what I've heard) as I really don't want to have to do a crankshaft. The car runs decently well, so I'd have a hard time believing that it's actually that, unless the snout itself is bent.

That being said, I feel like for the cost to repair it with a new crank, I'm better off driving it until it actually gives out and then swapping the motor with something else (Z06 LS6 anyone?) rather than outlaying the money now. I could probably handle a motor swap on my own, maybe since I've got the space and time now.

Until then, I guess I'll just keep driving it. Maybe it will just be a bad balancer and it will be repaired under warranty.

Yes those are the one's. They were very good. I ran them for 1 1/2 years and sold them when I went up in size.

Here they are one my truck size 265/70/17

Not missing much. I won't buy Coopers again. Between my dad and I, we have had shit luck with them lately which sucks because I really liked them and ran them on all my trucks through high school and college. They're pricey, but I'm a big fan of Michelins now that I have them.
So... I'm hearing you're going to drive it like you stole it until the motor shits the bed and then make it even more badass so you can really have some fun with it.

No, Chevy is gearing up to tell him that engine failures are normal. Sound familiar?

    I'll send you a PM.

We will see what they say and go from there. I drive like 1,100 miles a year so I'm sure I'll get a few years before any issues.

Maybe I'll swap it myself and see how hard it is (famous last words).

That reminds me, I should replace my tires before the snow hits. Getting low on the tread. I think it'll be 265/75/16 KO2s for me though.

Mine have been good. Had them since last fall, probably 15k-20k miles on them so far.
