Man you're up early... I slept in today (630 as opposed to 530). Have to run to the post office... Which in itself is almost harder than a border crossing.

    Morning, humans.

If it cracks and leaks, I'd keep it away from your house, haha!

    Congrats!

5am flight. Got 3 hours of sleep. Just landed in CLT, awaiting my puddle jumper to WV in about an hour. Thank god for Bose headphones.

Yeah... but there's a big difference between an ocean vessel and a house. If it takes a few years of salt water abuse on the ocean, that could be 10 years on a house in a place like a sill that sees minimal water.

True, but it's probably the wet/dry/sun cycle that cracks it, which your house would get its fair share of too. :notsure:

3M 5200 is awesome for the right application. Like on my salmon boat, instead of drilling holes directly into the transom for all my sonar transducers, I used 5200 to bond a big piece of puck board to the transom, then I drilled into the puck board. No holes through the transom and the 5200 will hold it forever. Stuff like that.

I have to admit - normally I'm not a big fan of spending money on headphones since my hearing is shot from spending too much time around aircraft and dyno cells but the noise cancelling bose I picked up (probably the same ones you might have) are fantastic for long plane rides. Plus being able to use them normally without the noise cancelling on or just stand alone noise cancelling with no music is awesome. I think I have the comfort labeled ones.

It's basically a hardcore adhesive with sealant properties. On the boat it's designed to glue stuff down permantly not seal it. (Everyone thinks it's a sealant) So after it cures it's only a little flexible and as the boat twists and flexes it starts to leak. If you put it on the house you will be fine except for 20 years later when you want to do any repair for rot or something it wil be bonded so tight that you will pretty much destroy whatever it's attached to. I'd just use a normal silicon sealant.

Good to know, thanks for the info. Sounds like I could find some good uses for it on my camper but I'll keep it away from the house.
