Monday AM.... wasn't sure if my company was open or not so I drove to work anyways - yep we're definitely open - that or enough people had no idea and went in anyways.

Nailed a curb saturday afternoon dodging a lady that refused to look when she pulled out of her parking lot - now when I turn to either lock while stopped and hit the gas to move the truck I hear a clunk from the driverside front.... Go figure I take the truck off roading all the time and of course a parking lot breaks it.

I've done more damage on-roading than offroading lol. I've also taken random drives towork because I wasn't sure it was open. Luckily I live only 5 minutes away from work.

Yarh. Morning all. Working on a holiday; tons of fun. But, I get Wednesday off for Yom Kippur.

My Fridays are all overtime, lol. When I have to work the 8-1 Saturday shift I'm usually at 60 hours on the week. Stupid overtime tax rates hit me pretty good for it, though.

I try to do a max of 10 hours OT before taxes make it seem not worth it.

Yeah, it sucks. You're working harder than you have to and earning overtime? TAX YOU!
So much about the system seems designed to discourage people from working.

Our school district didn't want to open tomorrow so we ended up with a 5 day weekend. Wish we had gone camping. Instead I'm just shuttling kids to and from friends houses:pout:

You could go salary, work 40 or 60 hours and get paid the same and taxed the same.

I know. I went to your booth, got some burgers for my kid and myself, then asked for Geoff. Of course Jeff came over and we talked for a second untill I figured out that it was not you. Very awkward. Lol
I was going to like your post because of camping but then I thought there is nothing to like about going to the dentist

Oh that is too funny! He and I are very used to it. Someone shouts Jeff (or Geoff) and we both spin our head.

If I was to take a Salaried position with this company they'd have to salary me at 55 hours or I wouldn't do it. The standard work schedule for a grunt in my office is around 52-54 hours a week. Managers are expected to do more, so...

^^^ Correct. I had an interview for a manager's position in my company and one of the 1st things they told me was the salary they were going to pay. I explained that I made a bit more than that now when I worked Saturdays. Being a low level manager at this company doesn't pay

Was that way at the garage/parts store that I worked at. As an assistant manager you made around the same money as a counter guy, but had additional responsibilities (aka-headaches) and were moved to the top of the list to come in on your day off if somebody called out.

Water barrier is up. Two layers, the first runs down behind old concrete and the second is an "L" going over concrete
