Ugh. The last two days have sucked. Down 4 people, between vacations and illnesses, so we've been running at basically half of our staff. And since we were closed on Wednesday we've been extra-busy the last couple of days anyway. :frusty:

Yea no carry over sucks. We just lost our yearly gain share bonus this year as well. We got bought out and they're slowly taking stuff away.

I see the need especially in a larger company but this year is the hardest with people like me scrambling to use it up

Part of the issues is I feel like I can't take all my time off. there isn't enough time to take off 3 or 4 weeks in a year. Too much shit going on

i worked in the car business for so long, i'm used to being chewed out just for working your schedule. they'd really chew you out for asking for earned time off. i know some people will schedule themselves a 3 day weekend to use their pto, i can't bring myself to do it

2 yrs ago I was on a project where I kept getting refused for time off (as did others). I earn 5 wks a year and then could carry 2 weeks. I was a week over my carry and asked to use a week end of the year. I got "we'll see what we can do" and I replied that I wouldn't accept that.

I've never had mine not approved, just always so much going on I feel. Right now in my life I'm OK with not taking as much vacation time and get the $$ payout for my unused time.

Rachel gets 6 weeks off per year. It starts in July. She only has 2 weeks left right now. Lol

BTW I only earn 4.0 hours biweekly of PTO for a total of 104 hours per year. We can carry over (not sure of the amount though) or do a pay out at the end of the year

It is rare but the project I was on was a demanding one. Wouldn't have sucked so bad but I was doing work 1-2 levels above my pay grade.

I have no set time off, I just take time off whenever I want. Sounds good but it actually sucks. Never know when the boss is feeling like I am taking too much time off. He never indicates that he is pissed but still.

We have unlimited sick time too, but after you use your 5 paid days you're eating your vacation time, and after that you just don't get paid to stay home sick. :notsure:

    Wow, Deb gets a lot!

Our sick time, vacation time, personal time or whatever is all bunched up and considered PTO. The only thing that is different for us is time for grievance. We can take what we need but we only get 3 paid days off

Yeah I don't consider it sick time if you're not getting paid.

I can earn 8 sick days a yr, but they cap accrual at 15 days. SUcks b/c I hardly ever use it so in a way I get gypped.

I get 4 weeks plus 1 day vacation. I can also split the weeks up if I choose. I get 7 paid sick days. I also get paid for any unused sick days/hours at the end of the year. I also get 3 paid days for grievence, if I were to ever need them.
